Hi everyone,
My name is Sophie and I'm so glad you've made your way to this breathwork meditation to add a little extra lightness to your body and your mind.
Today's practice is super simple and I'll lead you through it the whole way.
But it's one of my favorite breathing techniques to help release any tension,
Any held energy,
Any anxiety,
Anything that's being held in the body that you're ready to let go.
I'll lead you through the practice,
But it's going to be super simple.
The one thing to remember is to make sure that your inhales are shorter than your exhales.
This is going to help relax your body and release all that old energy.
So sit back,
Lay down,
Get comfortable,
And think about what you want to release.
Start by closing your eyes and just connecting with your breath,
Not altering it in any way.
Notice how the air feels going in through your nose,
Down through your throat,
Through your lungs,
And back out.
Now notice your body.
How do you feel today?
Where are you holding tension?
If your air feels a little tight,
A little sore,
Or just a little off,
Just notice without judgment.
Now take a big,
Deep inhale through your nose and I want you to imagine a color,
Whatever color comes to mind that means healing,
Means clean,
Means new,
Means fresh.
As you inhale,
Imagine that color coming into your body,
Traveling through every cell,
Every inch,
Every space in your body.
And with your exhale,
Imagine what color to you means.
Old means stagnant,
Means stale.
And like smoke exiting your body,
Breathe it out.
Breathe in the new.
Breathe out the old.
And continue in your own time to breathe in and breathe out,
Imagining those colors entering and exiting your body.
Continue to notice where in your body you're holding on and send more breath there.
And just continue to breathe again,
Making sure the exhales are longer than the inhales.
Notice how the colors are changing.
Are they fading?
Are they getting stronger?
Continue to fill your body up with the new and release all the old.
Bringing in lightness,
Bringing in joy,
Bringing in whatever you need in this moment.
Just breathe and be present.
Focus on the exhales,
Making sure every exhale is complete,
Every little space is emptied.
All the old air in your lungs is getting fully replaced with new,
Bright breath.
Keep breathing until these colors begin to fade,
Until your body feels refreshed and you've released whatever it was that needed to go today.
Continue breathing as long as it feels right for you today.
Wash off any energy that's built up on your body.
And whenever you're ready,
Bring your hands to your heart.
Thank yourself for making time for you.
And feel how good it feels to have this little bit of extra light in your body.
Remember this feeling and revisit it often.
