Make yourself comfortable in any posture that feels open and receptive.

Please start by bringing to mind all those pieces that make up who you are.

This is the identity you present to the world,

The opinions,

The preferences,

Your beliefs,

Your ethnicity,

Your occupation.

All those things you hold on to,

Those places in the body,

Those places in the mind that you are always holding together in your life.

Trying to keep it all together.

In these next few minutes,

You can let them go.

Dissolving those patterns,

Those identities,

Those ways of being.

Coming into what you truly are,

Just pure awareness and spirit.

There is nothing else to do but just be here.

There is no one else you need to be.

There is no one else you need to be.

There is no one else you need to be.

There is no one else you need to be.

There is no one else you need to be.

Notice when the body releases and relaxes.

Start to allow yourself to loosen up those places in the heart that are protecting your vulnerable spots.

They don't need protection right now.

Ride the waves of breath in and out.

Notice the fluid nature of existence.

With every out breath,

Continue to let go.

As you prepare to come back into the world of relationship,

To self and other,

To space and time,

Start to bring those pieces of yourself back together again.

But this time you can put those pieces back together any way you like.

Fitting them together more harmoniously into the shape of the person you want to be.

Some pieces might even be left out.

Some new pieces might come in.

Return to your breath and body.

Waken to the space around you.

Namaste.

Beautiful voice, deep message, masterful pauses. Especially recommended in times of transition that invite or force you to release some aspect of your identity: passage to motherhood, losing or quitting a job, ending a relationship. A tender reminder that you are not those temporary roles.

What I appreciate about this meditation is all of the silence that Sierra gives us. This meditation is helpful to me when people are venting their anger and frustrations at me and I need to remind myself not to take it personally. They are attacking my role in the world. When I am pure spirit I no longer have to defend my ego. Thank you for the reminder.
