This meditation invites you to encounter one of the Psalms—an ancient prayer-poem—received here as a sacred offering. I’m Seth David Clark, a minister and spiritual companion, and I’m honored to share this contemplative space with you. Rather than analyzing or interpreting the text, you’ll be invited to listen slowly—with openness and reverence. Consider how these words might stir, steady, or speak to you as you breathe deeply, quiet your mind, and enter the stillness beneath the surface of daily life. However you arrive, whatever you carry, this psalm meets you here. Each psalm in this series is from the King James Version. Song is "Autumn Sky Meditation" by NaturesEye from Pixabay.

Hello,

My name is Seth David Clark.

I'm an ordained minister,

Spiritual director,

An aspiring mystic who is grateful that you are here to share this meditative moment with me.

In this sacred space,

We are not rushing through scripture.

We'll walk slowly through one of the Psalms,

An ancient prayer poem,

As a meditation,

A way to return to presence,

To God,

And to the deep waters within.

As one created in the image of a God,

You carry divine fingerprints in the very fabric of your being.

Wherever you are,

You might consider settling in.

Perhaps allow your shoulders to drop and take a deep breath to center yourself.

You're invited to let go of any need to analyze or interpret.

You're welcome to listen in simplicity,

To receive,

To rest,

To simply be in the presence of the one who has loved you with an everlasting love.

Let us pray this psalm together,

Trusting in these ancient and sacred words.

Psalms 1,

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor standeth in the way of sinners,

Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord,

And in his law doth he meditate day and night,

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bringeth forth his fruit in his season.

His leaf also shall not wither,

And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so,

But are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,

Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous,

But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Amen.
