Welcome to this time of prayer.

My name is Seth,

And I'm so glad you've chosen to pray along with me today.

For now,

Set your heart and intention on God.

In a world full of many things,

Good and bad,

God delights in the fact that you're taking time on the most important relationship that you'll ever know.

In this time of prayer,

I will invite you to remember the gift from God that is your breath.

Then,

I will invite you to prayerfully listen to the reading of the ancient text.

After two readings,

Feel free to stay in a mindful state of prayer until the music finishes.

For now,

Though,

Let's focus on our breath,

Remembering that God is closer to us than our very breath,

And remembering that each breath is a gift from the divine,

Something to be grateful for.

It's okay to slow it down,

Because we're slowing down what we're doing to be present with God.

With our breathing slowed,

We can now start the reading.

Psalm 1.

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Or standeth in the way of sinners,

Or sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord,

And in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,

That bringeth forth his fruit in his season.

His leaf also shall not wither,

And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so,

But are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Therefore,

The ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,

Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous,

But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous,

But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
