Rainbow Breathing Meditation Let's take a moment to find calm by doing a special breathing exercise called Rainbow Breathing.
As we breathe,
We'll imagine each colour of the rainbow filling us with peace and calmness.
This will help us relax and let go of any tension we're holding inside.
Are you ready?
Let's begin.
Get yourself comfortable by either standing tall and relaxed with your feet shoulder width apart,
Or sitting in a chair with your back straight and feet flat on the ground,
Or laying down on your back on a comfortable surface with your arms relaxed by your sides.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Filling up your lungs.
And then slowly breathe out through your mouth.
Let's do that again.
Inhale,
Feel the breath moving into your belly.
And exhale letting go of any tension in your body.
One more time.
Inhale.
And slowly exhale.
Just relax and allow your breathing to return to normal.
Take a deep breath in.
And as you do,
Imagine the colour red.
Feel the red colour filling your body with warmth and calm.
Now breathe out letting go of any tension.
Breathe in again and imagine the colour orange.
Let the orange colour fill you with a sense of peace and energy.
Breathe out slowly,
Releasing any tightness.
As you take your next breath in,
Imagine the colour yellow.
Feel the bright warm yellow filling you with calmness and joy.
Breathe out letting go of any stress.
Let's breathe in the colour green.
Let it fill you with a sense of balance and harmony.
As you breathe out,
Feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed.
With the next breath,
Imagine the colour blue.
Let the cool,
Calming blue flow through you,
Bringing peace to your mind and body.
Breathe out slowly,
Releasing any remaining tension.
Breathe in the colour purple.
Feel the purple colour wrapping around you like a gentle,
Comforting blanket.
As you breathe out notice how calm and peaceful you feel inside.
Just relax and enjoy the stillness within you.
Now that you've breathed in all the colours of the rainbow,
Take a moment to enjoy this feeling of calm.
