Welcome to your root chakra meditation.
Find a comfortable position,
Either sitting in a chair with your feet flat on the floor or lying down on your back.
If it feels safe and supportive for you,
Gently allow your eyes to close.
Begin by bringing your awareness to the simple,
Miraculous fact that you are breathing.
There is nothing you need to do,
Nowhere you need to go.
For the next several minutes,
This time and space is just for you,
For your healing and for your rest.
We begin at the very foundation with the root chakra,
The energy center at the base of your spine.
This is our anchor,
Our connection to the earth and our deep,
Primal sense of safety.
Bring your awareness down into your body,
Feel the points of contact that your body is making with the surface beneath you.
The soles of your feet on the floor,
Your sit bones on the chair or your entire back body supported by the earth.
With each exhale,
Imagine you can release a little more weight into that support,
Allowing yourself to be fully held.
Now draw your attention to the very base of your spine,
To the area of your root chakra.
Imagine a soft,
Warm,
Red glow there,
Like the embers of a gentle fire.
This is your center of safety.
On your next inhale,
Breathe directly into this space.
And as you exhale,
Send a wave of release and relaxation down through your legs,
Through your feet and into the earth below you.
Now,
From that red glow at the base of your spine,
Imagine a single strong root beginning to grow.
It's made of light,
Of energy,
Of your own intention to feel safe.
With every breath,
See this root extending down,
Down through the floors,
Down through the foundation of the building,
Deep into the nourishing soil of the earth.
It travels through layers of stone and clay,
Anchoring itself firmly in the heart of the planet.
You are connected.
You are held and you are secure.
As you breathe,
Feel a sense of stability rising up from the earth,
Through your root and into your body.
It's a steady,
Calm and solid energy.
In this place of connection,
Silently offer these words to yourself,
Letting them land not just in your mind,
But deep within your body.
I am safe in this moment.
I am supported by the earth.
I belong here.
My body is my home.
Rest here for a few breaths,
Simply feeling this new or perhaps remembered sense of grounding.
Your root is strong.
Your body is supported.
In this moment,
You are safe.
Slowly and gently,
Begin to bring your awareness back to the room.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Feel the air on your skin.
When you are ready and at your own pace,
You can gently open your eyes.
Carry this feeling of stability and calm with you as you move through the rest of your day.
