The Mirage (Binaural Music For Deep Sleep & Relaxation)
by Ryan Garner
I composed this piece on a wintry & frosty night in the studio. I gathered a recent recording of rain I captured recently and began working on some ambient pad sounds to merge with it. This is binaural audio, which is best experienced with headphones / earphones for the full effect. Progress was slow, as I kept drifting off myself whilst creating this, which I assumed was a good sign. The atmospheric pads will subtly sweep around your head and from ear to ear to induce a deep sense of calm and immersion. For anybody curious, binaural audio is a method of recording and producing that reproduces the way humans naturally hear sounds. It essentially creates a sonic 3D space that places you in the middle of the sound. Binaural music in the alpha frequencies (8 to 13 Hz) are thought to encourage relaxation, promote positivity, and decrease anxiety. In the lower beta frequencies (14 to 30 Hz) it's believed to increase concentration and alertness, problem-solving, and improve memory.
