Happiness is a choice. We all know people who CHOOSE to be miserable. Not only is that a waste of their own time and energy, but it spreads that negative energy to everyone they come in contact with. By choosing happiness more often, you not only reap the physical and psychological benefits yourself, but you also get to give the gifts that come along with it to others. Enjoy!

So today's a short tip but it's something that's pretty imperative.

It seems incredibly simple.

It's common sense maybe even but not common practice.

Today I want you to decide to be happy.

That's it.

Decide to be happy all day long.

No matter what happens.

Now you might be thinking wait a minute.

How can I just choose to be happy?

No I'm not talking about that.

I'm not talking about bouncing off of walls.

That's not what happy really is.

Happiness is a choice.

Happiness has to do with your choice of attitude,

Your choice of point of view,

Your choice of what might be in your head versus what you're going to choose to let come out of your mouth in any given moment.

All of those things contribute to making you happy.

For those of you who think well I can be happy when things that make me happy come my way.

You're missing the point so let's flip that for you really quickly.

Other things if you think those things make you happy.

That's great.

We all have things that we enjoy and when we see them or we experience them or we go out to that restaurant and eat our favorite meal it can make us happy.

It makes us feel happy.

But other things you don't have to wait for other things to make you happy.

Happiness is simply about self-awareness.

You can choose to be happy just as you can choose to be miserable.

And we all know people who choose to be miserable.

Be careful if you don't know anybody it might be you.

So going forward I want you to make a point to choose to be happy.

Know that what makes you happy has to do with not choosing to have to open your mouth every time you think you need to say something.

It could be being in control in a situation because you chose not to react a certain way or you chose to respond differently.

That's empowering and when you feel good when you feel in control when you feel empowered not only do your stress levels go down but your happiness levels go up.

The more you choose to let things be without having to feel like you have to jump into every conversation,

Give your opinion about everything or react to everything everybody's doing,

Knowing that you can simply take a deep breath know what you think in your head and simply choose to do nothing can actually give you senses of happiness.

So go out there today and no matter what happens make a conscious choice to simply be happy and see how the world starts to change.
