Love lingers here.

This heart aches,

Yet I do not stop thinking about love and the possibilities of loving.

Every thought,

A wish,

A prayer,

Sent out on the wind.

Every sigh,

Some release of sadness.

The tides turn and I watch the world.

Walking a different path,

The thoughts return.

My love lingers here,

In the sigh,

The pause,

The silence.

I drift in and out of day and look on.

My love lingers here,

It does not forget.

My love is expansive,

Yet retreating in night.

I am unsteady,

My bones ache and body chilled.

This life vessel is aging.

Oh sweet Mary,

I pray for this aching heart.

Comfort me now.

For my heart aches,

Remembering hurt,

This fragile heart.

Yet still love lingers.

Love lifts and carries us,

A celestial love,

Reminding us that we are not alone,

Even during the darkest nights.

I pray that God will work and move through this heart and mend and heal.

And yes,

Love lingers here.
