Welcome.
Find a comfortable sitting position.
Just close your eyes and relax.
Take a deep breath in and slowly exhale.
Forgiving somebody is not easy.
We don't do it for the other person.
We forgive so that we can be free.
And until we forgive,
We will be constantly attached to that person or that event or whatever it is that has hurt you.
And part of our anger and resentment may be towards ourselves for allowing that to happen.
Can we forgive ourselves?
Can we let it go?
So let's start this practice by bringing into our consciousness an event where we may have caused harm to someone,
Where we may have caused someone to hurt.
Maybe we caused somebody some suffering.
Or maybe we judged someone for who they are,
How they look,
How they talk,
How they walk.
Or maybe somebody felt betrayed,
Abandoned,
Or neglected by us.
Whether knowingly or unknowingly,
Somehow we hurt them.
So think about that event,
That person.
When you have that memory,
Just think of that person.
And let's ask for forgiveness for the suffering or the harm we caused to them,
Knowingly or unknowingly.
Please forgive me.
Asking for forgiveness is also very difficult.
So let's just take this step.
And I ask one more time.
Please forgive me for causing these sufferings.
I am so sorry.
And now think about something where we may have caused harm to ourselves.
Somehow we hurt ourselves,
Caused some suffering.
When we judge ourselves for whatever reason,
Judging ourselves how we look,
How we talk,
What we do.
Or we somehow abandoned ourselves,
Neglected,
Or betrayed ourselves,
Whether knowingly or unknowingly.
Maybe we did that to please somebody but we may have hurt ourselves.
Holding ourselves in a tender compassion.
We gently say to ourselves I forgive you.
I truly,
Truly forgive you.
And I love you.
I really,
Really love you.
And now think about an event where someone else may have caused a harm to us.
Someone else may have hurt us.
Perhaps they caused some suffering.
Or we felt judged,
Betrayed,
Abandoned,
Or neglected by them.
Whether knowingly or unknowingly.
Maybe they were just lost.
Maybe they were just doing the best they could.
And as much as you can,
Very gently put that person in your memory and tell them.
Thank you for this lesson.
Thank you for helping me grow.
And I forgive you.
I forgive you.
I forgive you.
I want to be free.
I want to be happy.
I want to be loved.
I want to live my life in peace.
So in order for me to walk forward,
I am letting you go.
I am letting you go.
I am letting you go.
I wish you well.
May you find happiness.
May you be free.
May you live your life in peace.
And take a deep breath in.
And slowly exhale.
Feeling this peace in your heart.
Feeling this love in your heart.
Feeling this space in your heart.
Welcoming love.
Welcoming peace.
And welcoming harmony into our heart.
Take a deep breath in.
And slowly exhale peace.
And when you are ready,
You can slowly open your eyes.
