Tonight’s bedtime reading is called ‘The Hundredth Princess’. This tale is among a collection of fairy tales found in the book called ‘The Other Side of the Sun’ by Evelyn Sharp published in 1900. This fairytale is about a beautiful maiden known as the Green Enchantress who possesses an innate connection with nature and cherishes every living creature of the woods. The king has a great passion for hunting little animals that live in the forest. The enchantress’s heart grows heavy with sorrow and she resolves to put a spell on the King. However, the enchantress has trouble using her powers and with the help of her uncle, finds another way to make the King stop hunting so the animals can live peacefully in their homes without fear.
