Merlin's Magic
by Ravi Walsh
When we allow ourselves to enter the Heart, we release all concepts and realize that we are the one we have been searching for.

Greetings and welcome.
Take a comfortable upright posture with your spine straight,
Your head centered over your shoulders,
Shoulders over the hips.
If you are seated,
Put a cushion under your seat so that your hips are higher than your knees for maximum comfort.
If you choose to lie down,
Make sure your head is fully supported.
Take a deep,
Steady breath in and a long breath out.
Move your awareness into the space between each of your thoughts.
Noticing that where the last thought leaves off and before the next thought begins,
There is a space,
A pause,
Where there is no thinking.
Or move your awareness into the space between each breath,
Where the last breath leaves off and before the next begins.
There is a space where there is no breathing.
Now relax,
Knowing that that space between each thought,
Between each breath,
Just like the space between each note of music,
It is all one space,
And that is where your journey begins.
See,
Feel,
Image as you approach the space you are met in the silence by a door.
You see that there is no handle on this door.
And yet,
As you return your awareness back to the spaces between each breath,
Each thought,
Each note,
Even between the words I am speaking,
And rest in that space,
The door opens all by itself.
Yes,
Destiny opens the door all by itself.
When you step through the door,
You come upon a memory of just an ordinary day for you.
Perhaps it begins by waking up late,
Rushing around your home,
Your apartment,
No time to eat,
No time to sit and enjoy that cup of coffee.
You're out the door,
Racing down the steps,
Into the car,
Moving,
Moving,
Moving.
One of these days where you don't catch any green lights,
The stop signs seem longer and longer,
And still,
Your breath is with you.
As you pause to let the children walk across the street,
In the long line of traffic,
You gently return to the space between each breath.
Your thoughts are racing like texts,
One after another,
Coming into your phone.
But at some moment,
Enough is enough.
You put the phone down,
You pull the car over,
And something inside you inspires you to get out.
You begin walking down the sidewalk.
Your mind is pulled deeper and deeper into the space between each breath,
Each thought.
With it,
Your frustration wanes.
A pleasant emptiness,
Peacefulness begins to arise from inside.
A right,
A left,
You're following your feet.
As you step out of the city,
The urban areas,
Into the forest,
A cool breeze meets you as the sun is shielded by the canopy above.
Fallen trees,
Stumps appear in your path,
But you continue walking,
Following your feet.
The path winds this way and that,
Up hills and down into valleys.
But with every step you take,
A certain freedom is reborn inside your heart.
You loosen your shirt collar.
At some point,
You drop the bag,
The knapsack.
You won't need them where you're going.
You walk and you walk and you walk.
There are moments you sit down.
You take a pause.
Fear of what you may have left behind rattles around in the mind.
But now you are clear.
Something,
Something is calling you.
Something is pulling you.
As the bright sun of noon begins to dip down closer to the horizon,
The forest ends in a clearing.
In the middle of that clearing is a tree.
It may be a tree from your memories as a child.
A favorite tree you once saw on another journey.
Realization dawns.
This is the tree that has been calling to you,
That has been pulling to you for what seems like your entire life.
You move quickly,
Freely across the clearing,
As if you are greeting an age-old friend who you haven't seen in a long,
Long,
Long time.
When you finally reach the long roots,
You find a little nook just for you.
And cozy down to sitting under this magnificent tree.
Sitting under this tree.
Memories from so many parts of your life dance around you.
As they do,
And you open your eyes,
You see glimpses of those memories right in front of you.
How is this possible,
You say?
Scenes of happiness and joy,
Sadness and sorrow,
Frustration and anger,
Wonderment and courage play out under the tree's canopy before your eyes.
The questions continue as the birds begin to call.
Their songs taking you back to a time,
Long before this time.
A time when wish-fulfilling trees were real.
And you wonder,
What if,
If today was the day that you could sit under a wish-fulfilling tree and have anyone wish you wanted?
Remember,
It is one wish.
What,
What would you wish for?
You gaze up at the magnificent branches above you,
Swaying in the mounting breeze.
It is the moment of choice for you.
What wish,
One wish,
Would you make for your one life?
You breathe in deep,
Drop your awareness all the way down into your gut,
And listen.
If today were the day that you could have anyone wish you wanted for,
For your life,
What would you wish for?
Up from the listening arises your answer,
Your response.
See,
Feel,
Image that response coursing through your body.
Your body,
Almost as if it merges with the trunk of the tree.
As you're gazing up,
You see the light moving up the tree,
Out the limbs,
Filling each of the leaves.
And as they rustle,
In the waning light of the setting sun,
The shadows on the ground reflect scenes of your wish,
Playing out in your life.
You step up,
Transfixed by the shadows on the ground.
They are so clearly scenes from your life.
Are you ready to step into that life?
Can you envision yourself there?
From the safety of where you stand now,
What do you feel?
Do you long to be part of that life?
Which shadow image would you choose to step in first?
360 degrees around the limbs of this tree,
Your next life is flashing before you.
The choice is yours.
Stand back and watch,
Step in and live.
As you begin moving toward one of those scenes,
A thought arises inside of you.
I could use a guide.
Suddenly a breeze tickles your back.
You turn around,
Shimmering just off the ground.
There is a guide,
A glimpse.
You see him.
Your mind searches,
Where have I seen him before?
And a single word rises like a new sun dawning.
Merlin.
Yes,
That is the first step.
This week,
As you journey into this new life,
Record the experiences that show up aligning you with that single word you found,
You heard under the tree.
Record your experiences,
The synchronicities,
The coincidences,
The clues,
The animals.
See them all as your guide,
Enticing you deeper and deeper,
Out of the spectator and into the full participant of the life you have just chosen to step in.
Remember,
You're not alone.
Your first wise choice was a guide.
See everything as that guides wisdom.
And remember,
Choose wisely.
This world is new and fresh and unfolding with every step you take.
Welcome.
Welcome.
Welcome your experience.
