Hi,

And welcome to RAISE Meditation.

Tonight I will be guiding you through our Sleepy Moon Meditation.

We will relax the mind and body as we prepare ourselves for a night of sleep.

Find yourself lying in bed,

Nestled up for the night.

Adjust your body now and throughout the following meditation as needed for comfort.

The goal is peace and relaxation,

Stillness and a quieting of the mind.

Feel the places where your body meets your bed.

The spots where your head rests on your pillow.

And the places where your arms and legs touch the surface they are on.

Notice the feeling of your covers.

Maybe they're warm or cool,

Heavy or light.

Notice the sensations of these covers resting on your body.

Now take note of your breath.

Pay attention to where the breath enters your body and to the rise and fall of your chest as you continue to breathe naturally.

Together let's scan the body from head to toe and discover if there are any areas that you can relax further.

Let's begin with the head,

Face,

And neck.

Bring your attention here and release any tight or taut muscles.

Next bring the attention to the shoulders and see if there's any further release to be found here.

Shift now to the arms and hands and let go.

And once more to the chest and belly,

Notice if there are any spots here that you can soften and relax a bit more.

And now the hips and glutes.

Notice if you're clenching anything tight here and if so,

Relax and release.

And lastly to the legs and the feet,

Release.

Sweep the attention from your head to your feet.

Let everything be soft and relaxed.

Release and surrender to the bed,

To the night.

You're melting into your bed and into a state of calm and relaxation.

Note the quiet that's associated with night.

The spaciousness.

The stillness.

Release into this state of being.

Relax.

Let go into the night,

Into the relaxing rise and fall of your breath and into the softness of your muscles.

Imagine the moon above you and the deep,

Dark sky.

Envision a beautiful halo circling the moon and light wispy clouds traveling ever so slowly across the starry sky and briefly covering parts of the bright,

Beautiful,

Glowing moon.

As you imagine these white,

Trailing clouds,

Place any remaining thoughts from the day on top of them and watch them drift away.

Gradually they disappear from view.

You're left with the feeling of calm in your mind and in your body.

Facing and relaxing,

Surrendering to stillness.

As you gaze into the depths of the night sky,

Notice the twinkling stars all around.

They travel as far as your eyes can see,

Shining softly but surely.

Notice also the spaces in between the stars,

These places of deep,

Infinite darkness.

Let your mind rest here,

The gap between the light and the dark.

The places that can be seen and those that remain hidden,

Blanketed by the night sky.

Enter to these spaces now.

Feel yourself sinking into these vast wells of inky darkness and into the magical depths of sleep,

Of night,

Of stillness,

Of peace.

You are one with the night,

With the sky,

The entire universe.

You feel the melting of your body as it joins the sky,

Connected to the vast universe without separation.

No longer confined to your mind or to your body.

Among the stars,

Bright as glowing orbs and as dark as the deepest depths,

As wispy as the floating clouds,

Connected to everything and also to nothing.

Light and airy,

No form or shape.

No thoughts or restraints.

Sleepy,

Calm,

Filled with peace and relaxation.

Floating freely through the vast universe.

You are the air and the stars and the spaces of nothingness in between.

You are the moon.

You are the white wispy clouds.

You are the halo,

Casting its beautiful ethereal glow in the night.

You are calm.

You are quiet.

You are infinite.

You are everything.

And you are nothing.

You are drifting slowly.

You are the light.

You are the light.

You are the light.

There's no time here.

No end.

Just vast stillness.

You are the light.

You are everything.

Surrender to the stillness.

Surrender to the stillness.

Surrender to the stillness.

Surrender to the deep.

Dark night.

The sleepy dance.

You are the light.

To the sleepy sky.

You are the light.

You are everything.

You are the light.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

You are everything.

Love how the volume gets softer and there’s less words at the end. Perfect for sleep. Wish there were more like this!

This may honestly be the best sleep meditation I've heard yet. Long and floaty without committing to any definitive topic, allowing the mind to be free from thought. I have real sleep issues but I drifted off pretty immediately. Thank you!
