Dear one,
Come to a seated position with your feet flat on the floor or the ground beneath you,
Hands resting softly in your lap.
When your mind is in obsessing,
When your mind is in compulsing,
When your mind is in worry,
When your mind is in anxiety,
Stop.
Take a deep breath.
Get still.
Get centered.
Close your eyes.
Enter your body.
I have two eyes that see.
I have two ears that hear.
I have a nose that allows me to smell,
To breathe.
I have a mouth that opens and closes,
Allowing breath,
Allowing me to speak.
I have a tongue that allows me to taste.
Sweet,
Salty,
Savory,
Sour,
Bitter.
I have two lungs that breathe,
Providing me the gift of life.
I have a heart that beats all on its own,
Circulating blood throughout my body,
Keeping me alive.
I have a stomach that digests the food that nourishes and becomes my body.
I have two legs that allow me to walk,
To run,
To stand,
To sit.
I have two feet that support this body in all its adventures.
I have two arms to provide balance as I walk,
To allow me to hug.
I have two hands that let me touch,
Feel.
Can you feel the aliveness in your body?
Can you feel your pulse?
Your breath?
Your beating heart?
Can you feel the life force energy that is constantly flowing,
Every second,
Every minute,
Every hour,
Every day,
Keeping you alive?
When we get in touch with this energy,
When we sense it,
When we connect to it,
This drops us down into our bodies,
Our beings,
And takes us out of the mind,
Out of the self,
Out of the ego.
I'm going to slowly count down from 10 to 1.
With each number,
I invite you to take a slow inhale of your breath,
And a slow exhale of your breath.
When I reach the number 1,
After taking in a slow breath,
And releasing a slow out-breath,
I'd like you to pause a moment.
Let's begin.
Take a few moments to bask in its awesomeness,
In its excellence,
In its expansiveness.
Staying present with all sensations of the body for as long as you are comfortable.
Coming back into the room,
Feeling your feet on the floor,
Your bottom on the seat beneath you.
Wiggle your toes,
Wiggle your fingers,
Taking in one last big inhale,
And slowly releasing a full exhale.
Now,
Slowly,
Gently opening your eyes.
Welcome back.
Welcome home.
