Let's explore and exercise our way into a better, more wholesome way of working in the world through first staying in, working with what is in our hands, before going out of this divine protective zone, to the expansion it can potentiate.

Hello,

Awake and creative.

Welcome to this space.

I've called this meditation Lucky Us.

Recognizing the always potential.

It's so easy to be caught up in the drama,

In the disaster on the world stage right now,

Or at any given time,

Quite frankly.

I see this as a challenge.

For myself first,

Of course,

But then each of us.

And then collectively in whatever communities we create.

To see the potential.

When things get their deepest,

Darkest,

Scariest.

Right there alongside is immense opportunity.

As an artist,

A creative,

I think we know this innately.

But because of this heightened sensitivity,

Sometimes that innate knowingness of potential of opportunity can be frightening to balance against this circumstance.

I've been playing a game with myself this year.

I call it a game because it makes me giggle.

I smile each time I engage in the process.

And I think that's an important part of it.

I hadn't intended to bring it here.

To expose it publicly,

If you will.

This game of mine,

It was just a personal play.

But the more I thought about it,

The more I realized how important it's become.

I thought it worthy of exposure.

It actually started many years ago when I began taking road trips,

Long road trips,

And leaving the castle,

The compound behind in the care of someone else and sometimes all empty.

I jokingly refer to it as my get smart cone of silence.

Any of you who are familiar with Get Smart,

The comedic spy show from,

Gosh,

When?

The 60s?

You may recognize what I'm talking about.

When he wanted to have a private conversation with his superior,

They would stand under a cone of silence.

It was glass or transparent and kept anybody else from being able to hear what was going on.

Now mine isn't about standing in a cone of silence in a private conversation,

But that same visual of a cone,

A transparent cone coming down over myself or what I'm envisioning,

Occurs.

For me,

For my purposes,

This envisioning is a protective bubble,

If you will.

The more I've done this,

And then this year in particular,

Determined to make it a practice nearly daily,

It's done just what I said earlier,

Which is make me giggle.

But also,

And expectantly,

But also surprisingly,

It's reinforced my trust,

My faith and my courage to trust.

You see,

It's the little things,

It's the one person taking one step,

It's the one group making one decision that begin to turn tides.

You can all recognize that in communities throughout the United States and throughout the world.

So this cone of protection,

I want to take you through the exercise.

And if it resonates to any degree with you,

I encourage you to join in with me on a daily basis and try to commit doing this for yourself and your space,

Your zone of protection.

It could be as small as your desktop.

Perhaps you envision your entire studio space or like myself,

The entire compound,

This creative space that I'm nurturing and holding for not just myself and my own creative practice,

But for the soil that's enriched,

Birthing,

Growth of vegetables and flowers,

For the other artists who are here in studio spaces,

For the structures themselves to stand strong and release their gift of presence.

So gently let your eyes flutter closed just to that soft,

Closed gaze that lets you see what your eyes can't see.

Now envision your space,

The place that you're going to lower this protective bubble,

This get smart cone of silence over.

I draw my sights and see this transparent cone hovering over the entirety of this property,

Sometimes taking the time to envision the artists within,

The beds replete with seeds ready to burst forth,

Paintings,

Easels,

Canvases,

Now as you hold this protection zone in your mind envision that glass dome descending over it,

Encompassing it.

It means something that it comes down from heaven,

But it's a divine empowering,

A divine protecting.

Terrarium now this space is with this divine hand,

Your internal creativity,

Your intuitive response and call.

It's held fast in this space able to be fully realized this full,

Rich potential within this envisioning,

This gamifying your beauty within and your protective zone is what you have.

Perhaps what you can manage in these circumstance filled worlds we live in right now.

Staying within you are not cutting yourself off from all of that,

But rather you are working with where you can reach as each day goes on and as each opportunity arises this rich fostering of personal potential will have a place.

Your dome of protection will expand but there's time for that.

More than ever we need to do it right to start where you are.

Recognize this rich,

Always potential space that you already hold in your hands.

Perhaps as small as a desktop or as grand as a city block.

This is where you stand.

Work in it and watch the potential.

Awaken creative.

Keep creating.

Keep envisioning.

Keep fostering and nurturing and growing your divine connection.
