Oh Artist Before You Rise! Join me in this creative meditation as we begin before placing our feet on the floor, to ground and gather all the day may require as we engage with color, paint, brush, and intuitive response to music and melody.

Oh,

Artist before you rise,

Let the colors and shapes dance there behind your eyes.

Do not be too quick to open,

To focus on the windows and doors before you,

Beckoning you into the world.

Stay here.

Stay here.

Stay inside,

Where your own light,

Color,

And shape are forming,

Within this backdrop of a new day.

Sunlight just outside,

Tipping the ends of branches and crests of neighboring roofs.

But you here now.

Remain.

Feel your soul with deep,

Nourishing light.

Close your eyes and imagine it there,

The surface to which you will take yourself soon,

To the studio,

The colors,

Singing to your senses as you listen to these daybreak illuminations.

Do you know already,

As you heard it perhaps in the night,

In your dreams,

Your truest self speaking there to your senses,

The placement and sweep your hand will take as you begin over the raw surface today?

As you rest into the day's call for awakening,

Wrap your vision around these images of paint,

Color,

And form.

Expand your imaginings to unfold the possibilities that fresh moments always contain.

Gather here,

Your self,

And only then,

With this gathering and reconnection,

Open your eyes.

Together now,

Let's take a creative morning meditation.

Whether artist by definition or not,

No matter.

Creative expression is glowing in the core of everyone,

And the play of this,

The release of this across paper or canvas,

Feeds into everything we do in the real world of our lives.

Shift your legs to the floor,

Engage a gentle smile on your face,

Carry this smile all the way to your eyes,

To your ears,

Expand your reach for joy and take yourself to that starting place,

Your beginning over blank canvas.

As the music begins,

Listen for a few moments.

Settle your interior senses to that of the visioning you began with before you opened your eyes.

Then,

Let the sounds and sights wash over you once again as you take up your brush or crayon,

Marker or pencil,

And begin your expression across this blank surface before you.

Once the music stops,

I'll return to close.

Enjoy this,

Your first light,

Creative morning expression.

As the music winds down,

Your creative energies have expressed,

Expanded.

You re-engage with your thinking brain,

And there your heart alights.

What have you done?

What have you done?

What creation lies before you that did not exist before you had started?

This is your day.

This is your way.

This is you,

Yourself,

Your best self.

A small,

Glimmering,

Beautiful,

Breathtaking lightness of the you that is just that,

Just you.

See it.

Better yet,

Feel it and know it.

Even if fleetingly,

Know it and start there.

Begin your day that takes you further into color,

Perhaps.

Further into form,

Shape,

Line,

Maybe.

Or perhaps none of these.

Perhaps out the door to a whole world,

Your world,

Waiting for more of what you have to give,

To express.

It needn't be aware of where that unique smile and glimmer came from.

It needn't be aware that you began anew before you stepped from the door.

You began anew over color and shape and line like never before.

The world,

The world you enter need only know.

You are here.

Thank you for coming along on this creative meditation from before the brush.

I'm Patricia Baldwin-Sagerbrook and I invite you to keep going,

Keep painting,

And keep believing.

This meditation gave me the courage to BEGIN. For me, starting is always the most difficult part of creation. This centered me within the present moment, where the act of creation, not the product, was my main focus. Thank you!

Love this Meditation! Inspiring! Enchanting! Immensely assisting me to let go of the mind and go inside. Color, line, and shape flowed with a new, fresh energy! Thank you Patricia! πŸ™πŸΌπŸ€—
