Welcome everybody come on in this is day two of a 10-day session to five-day Monday through Fridays We will be gathering here at 110 Eastern US to Work our way through to divine incubation Recognizing this session these 10 days this course where emotions sit I've enjoyed Splunkering for myself things that usually would just Be unacknowledged So often we have our emotions and we don't let ourselves or ask ourselves.
Where does this come from?
Why is this rising in me now?
We simply go with the flow and that's not the right kind of flow.
We want to go with it by bringing conscientiousness to so much more of our human experience our human experience becomes tremendously I'm gonna say it.
It's horrible grammar tremendously more more rich There you have it I'm going to begin today day two By closing out shame Shame is where we began yesterday that deep-seated emotion that for me is The backbone of the negatives a lot of people consider fear to be the backbone of negative emotions but shame to me is even that really base So I want to close it out because I heard something today that I want to share with you This podcast said and I always find it ironic When I when I hear things that You know that feed into what I've been talking about or thinking about So today on a podcast I'm not quoting directly but it something to the effect that our culture since the Great War Has built itself on self-improvement and taking action The very design of this leaves no room for quiet rest care To the point that shame has become a byproduct of trying to live every day by these precepts of continuous improvement We've been set up to be ashamed I Don't think it was ever intentional,
But it's time to work in a new direction It's time to put it all down It's time to put it all down it has never really been ours to carry So yesterday as I said it was a strong negative emotion today a strong positive We cannot those supplant a negative with heaps of positive it just doesn't work that way We're here to realize this and give some consideration to what may be the way it does work to Acknowledge our emotions each one by one Realize where they originate Maybe even come to understand why we let them run roughshod over our experiences Then use them and our intellect and compassion Wisdom and courage to stop that roller coaster Isaac Perlman said when a string on its violin snapped in a performance as he chose to adapt and keep going on Sometimes it is the artists task to figure out how much music you can create with what you have left It is time to bear down and live this calling in its truest form and voice Where do we begin and where do we end?
In our search for living who we are?
We come fully equipped as we breach from the dark into the light fully formed But the world doesn't always let us stay there it takes a hand in our making and turns us into something it can use Yet artists tell a different story Artists by their very nature are meant to get what they want Artists by their very nature are meant to get out of line to paint outside the lines Yet artists are not altered species.
We're not an anomaly to be watched warily from a distance We may not fit within the compartments of culture But we always stand tall We may not earn the accolades the masses purchase But we stand the test of time We are not here to change now we are here to make the way to next These ten days are created to call us all to begin to own the place artistry and self-expression through art and creativity hold I've been freaking myself out this week Realizing this is me.
I Am this power.
I Am this presence.
I am this opportunity But you know what?
The only reason I can see this is because I also realize it is everyone I Am NOT some anomaly.
I Am NOT gifted or graced or touched with a divine hand.
I Am just as you are Just as we all are We need to let ourselves own up to this truth and start moving from there it really is that simple Sometimes I'd like to shake a fist at my mom the person I've used as my finger pointing devil to my lack But you know what?
If she the one positioned to feed me my strength and courage Tenacity and truth didn't support these ways for me Then how was I designed to move in them to find them and to grow?
Despite There is so much power in realizing the places in which we count ourselves cut off cut short Have only ever been there to nudge us into the place.
We are meant to stand strong to stand tall to walk bold To walk empowered.
This is a wonder to me All the heartache and pain all the stupid choices and wrong directions I selected All of these were only only always ever there to take me to now This time in my life that I get to stand tall Because I choose Because I let go because I can Because I get to and so do you There is never ever too late there is always ever now Now is the time I'm gonna say that every day now is the time This is turning the tide on negative This is realizing it's all right If we pick up the brush and begin to paint that way So pleasure another strong line our emotion of the day You're on to me I'm intent on getting everyone deep into the sensory experience so that you can get deep into your art Which if you are here is at least a thread of your personal life tapestry Greenness comes upon us slowly patiently naturally Artists live like the verge of tears in the throat Is there some kind of leash I can slip around the neck of these emotions Hold them captive until they agree to stay put of their own volition Just riffing here for my own pleasure fishing maybe To catch joy there on my line or happiness or pride Or at least peace That's one of my favorite eats This reel it in to come swim in the rivers of my veins for good We all inexorably grow green no matter where we are planted This is the way in which true greens in us to shine on the world So pleasure that gentle yet striking emotion that can lead the way with so many other positives Find like yesterday where it resides in you Find like yesterday where it resides in you Find where you open when you let the sense of pleasure fill you Hold yourself there No one can see you Don't hold back Pleasure is purity pleasure is unadulterated Pleasure is the first giggle from a baby the sight of a loved one across a crowded room The space a great novel holds or better yet this space here before the canvas Let's go there here and explore Again not what it means to paint pleasure But what it can mean to open to the idea of pleasure safely and honestly Let it be its best in and around all the other motions equally We'll go for 20 minutes again Let's go ahead and begin So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So So
