I've got a question for you today.
What if you had everything you need?
What if no thing you see outside of yourself could add any value,
Depth,
Intrigue,
Nothing held any necessary attribute to enrich you other than exactly what you contain on the inside?
This desert of discovery we've been walking through these long 40 days is not one of desolation,
Despondency or loneliness.
This desert is one of discovery.
Nothing we find here,
As I said,
Adds value.
But bringing ourselves here is the experience.
When we can be open to this incredible unknown,
This dark and shadowed space where oftentimes fear and desperate worry can reside,
Taking that breath,
Still holding that brush,
Knowing better can be that first step into awakening to your most creative self.
And it has nothing,
Nothing to do with the dirt and the landscape and the input.
It has everything to do with the mold and form of who you are.
What if that degree in engineering that has carried you this far on the pathway of a career,
Alongside that passion for beautiful script,
The touch of a line to tell a story,
And your deep admiration perhaps secreted away for the bold and beautiful colors of the southwest or a main autumn?
What if these experiences are the truest amalgamation of you?
Ready now,
In this time of darkness and waiting and desolation and discovery,
To be birthed into the most incredible self you are.
You may ache to have known better when you were 16 or 20 or 42.
But you,
You awake and creative,
Get to be that discovering now.
Take your parts,
Piece them together,
Keep walking,
And realize you contain everything.
What if?
You awake and creative.
