How do you know the difference between fear and intuition?
I recently met with a coach to see if it might be a good fit to work together.
And as I was making the decision,
I was not only paying attention to what I was thinking,
But also what I was feeling in my body.
You see,
There's a difference between thinking,
I'm nervous because this is new,
Uncertain,
Or outside my comfort zone,
And something about this doesn't feel right.
The first can come with butterflies,
A racing heart,
Or a small voice that says,
What are you doing?
Doing.
But despite all of that,
You still want to move forward.
The second feels different to me.
It's like a quiet resistance,
A sense that I'm trying to talk myself into something that I already know isn't right for me.
And this brought to mind the whole body yes concept from the conscious leadership group.
When your head,
Heart,
And gut are aligned,
You can experience this as a whole body yes.
You might still feel nervous.
It might still feel like a stretch.
But underneath the nerves,
There can still be a sense of knowing.
Another way to think of it is,
When I imagine myself doing this,
Do I feel expanded or contracted?
For me,
It's about listening to my head,
Heart,
And gut.
And if there's anything that's off in either one of those,
I know there's something to pay attention to.
The more I listen to those signals,
The more I learn to trust myself.
How do you know when it's a whole body yes?
