This is a brief guided visualization meditation that takes the meditator on a retreat to their favorite nature location. During the meditation, the meditator is invited to open up to guidance from the natural world. There is a combination of soothing music, nature sounds, and guided imagery. This meditation is recommended to be done while lying down.

Transcript

Welcome to the Nature Retreat guided meditation.

Make sure that you are as comfortable as possible.

If you need,

You can pause the recording to set yourself up.

When you're ready,

Begin to take some slow deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.

And out through your mouth.

With each breath in,

Fill your lungs all the way up.

Then hold and slowly release the breath out.

Breath in,

Hold and long slow breath out.

And then continue deep breathing.

Allow yourself to gently release any busyness in your mind.

You're about to step into your own beautiful nature retreat.

Bring to mind a place in nature that you love,

A place where you have felt deep peace and beauty.

Allow yourself to walk to the most comfortable area in this place and find a spot to sit or lie down.

Knowing that you are deeply held here,

Allow yourself to release and relax even deeper.

Stay connected to the peace that you feel and look around,

Noticing all the natural beauty.

You may notice the trees or the plant life,

The sky and the clouds,

The grass,

Butterflies,

Birds.

What else is here in this place?

Now,

If you'd like,

You may call on guidance from nature.

This may come in the form of an animal or perhaps a wise and loving person.

Notice them as they appear in the landscape.

Welcome them to your side.

And ask any questions that you may have.

Notice if there's anything else you want to ask this guide before they go.

And now take one moment to absorb the message and feel appreciation for their presence.

Now you may begin to rise from this place,

Gently coming back to your body,

Wiggling your fingers and toes,

Feeling the muscles in your body still connected to your breath and to the present moment.

And if you'd like,

You can open your eyes and have a wonderful rest of the day.
