Do you remember a time when the world felt safe, magical, and limitless? In this meditation, we travel back to find a "core memory" from your childhood—specifically from age eight or younger—to retrieve a feeling of pure, expansive love. We will not just reminisce; we will engage in somatic anchoring. By merging the vivid sensory details of that childhood joy with your present-day awareness, we "re-format" your current emotional state. This practice helps you create a permanent emotional anchor, reminding your nervous system that deep safety and wonder are always available to you, right now.

Welcome.

Find a comfortable place to relax and meditate.

A place where you can be still for a while.

Close your eyes.

Before we travel anywhere,

In this short meditation,

Please just feel the body.

Feel the gravity holding you.

Take a deep inhale,

Feeling the chest,

And a long slow exhale,

Letting the shoulders drop and your body relax.

We are going to do something special today.

We are going to retrieve a treasure from your own past.

We are going to find a spark of pure love from your past.

And bring it here and now to light up your present moment.

I want you to let your mind float backward.

Drift past yesterday.

Past last year.

Drift back slowly,

Through your teenage years.

And keep going.

Go back to when you were small.

To when you were 8 years old,

Or perhaps even younger.

Back to a time when the world was big,

And your heart was wide open,

Where innocence and wonder were present.

I want you to scan for a specific kind of memory.

A core memory.

We aren't looking for a big event like a birthday party,

Though it could be.

We are looking for a moment of pure safety and expansion and love.

Maybe it was a moment of total silence,

Playing with dust motes in the sunlight.

Maybe it was being held by a grandparent,

Feeling completely loved.

Maybe it was a teaching moment,

Where you learned something new and felt proud.

Maybe it was just you,

Alone in nature,

Feeling a secret magic.

Find that moment where you felt good,

Where you felt light,

Where you felt love.

Do you have it?

Even if it's just a fragment,

Hold on to it.

Now,

We are going to bring it to life in its full glory.

Step into your small body.

Look through those younger eyes.

Everything seems taller,

Bigger.

See the details.

What colors are around you?

Is it inside?

Or outside?

Look at your small hands.

What do they look like?

Hear the sounds.

Is there a voice you love speaking to you?

Is there the sound of rain?

Or is there a profound,

Comforting silence?

Feel the emotion.

This is the most important part.

Feel the absence of worry.

Feel that sensation of being cherished,

Or that sensation of wonder.

Notice where that joy lived in your little body.

Was it the warmth in your tummy?

A buzzing in your chest?

Let that emotion become huge.

Let it be the only thing that exists.

Again,

Listen to the music and go deep into this feeling of love and wonder.

Keep that intense feeling of childhood love and expansion alive.

Now,

We are going to do the work of merging.

Imagine that this memory is a golden light surrounding you.

And slowly,

Layer this memory over your current self.

Imagine your adult body,

Sitting here right now,

Is slipping into that feeling like a warm coat.

You are not just remembering it.

You are reformatting this moment.

Take a deep inhale.

And breathe that childhood innocence into your adult lungs.

Exhale,

And let that ancient safety settle into your adult muscles.

Tell yourself,

I am bringing this love here.

It is timeless.

It is mine.

Notice how your perspective shifts.

The stress of today looks different when viewed through the eyes of that expansive,

Loved child.

You are rewriting the now with the emotional data of the then.

We are going to set this feeling as an anchor.

I invite you to place one hand over your heart.

As you make this physical contact,

Dial up the brightness of that memory.

One last time.

Feel the love.

Feel the expansion.

Press your hand to your heart.

This is your anchor.

Whenever you touch this spot,

You can recall this sensation.

You have built a bridge from that child to this adult.

The love is not lost.

It is just transported.

Feel your nervous system recalibrate.

You are safe.

You are expansive.

You are loved.

Slowly,

Begin to let the image fade,

But refuse to let go of the feeling.

Keep the feeling of the child's joy in your body as you wiggle your toes.

Keep the expansion in your chest as you take a deeper breath.

You have changed the texture of your present moment.

You can return here anytime you wish.

When you are ready,

Open your eyes.

Look at the world around you with the fresh,

Open eyes of that child.

Namaste.
