A Centering Prayer from Matthew 5 (ESV). Beatitude inherited its blessedness from the Latin word beatus, meaning both "happy" and "blessed." In the Bible, the Beatitudes are a series of eight blessings. Centering Prayer 1. Choose a sacred word as the symbol of your intention to consent to God’s presence and action within you. 2. Sitting comfortably and with eyes closed, settled briefly and silently introduce the sacred word as the symbol of your consent to God’s presence and action within. 3. When engaged with your thoughts, return ever-so-gently to the sacred word. (Normal flow in our consciousness-distractions) Don’t resist, let them go and tolerate. 4. At the end of the prayer period, remain in silence with eyes closed for a couple of minutes.

I like this because it’s just the beatitudes being spoken: no introductory words, explanations.... just listen and meditate.

Amen. I loved the pace of this, and how much time was given for reflection after each statement.

Can’t rate less than 5 stars, after all these are the words of Yeshua. But I do wonder how the Beatitudes would read if translated directly from the Aramaic
