As you find your relaxed shape,
I invite you to scan your body just like we did at the start of our time together.
Checking in with any little adjustments that you need,
Any little fidgets your body needs to relax completely to find comfort.
Let your breath find its own steady natural rhythm.
Letting go of control.
Letting your body breathe itself.
Bring your awareness to the center of your forehead.
Begin to envision gathering all of the energy of your awareness,
All of your attention,
Perhaps even your eyes gaze up at the center of your forehead beneath closed eyelids.
Notice any sensation that arises as you bring your attention to your third eye.
Feel yourself connecting to the source of your intuition.
Feel yourself connecting with your discernment,
Your innate ability to find the truth,
To see what's real beyond the superficial.
If there is anything that you need from your third eye or your intuition,
I invite you to pose that question,
That challenge to the universe,
To your third eye,
Inviting wisdom to come to you throughout this practice.
Sometimes all it takes is for us to get quiet and centered in our own being,
To turn down the volume of our thinking mind,
To maybe stop making excuses for other people or situations,
To stop telling stories,
Which is something our mind loves to do.
And setting all of that aside for the time being,
Simply open yourself up to the truth.
Open yourself up to the wisdom that you need,
The clarity that you desire.
Bring this to your mind's eye and begin to envision a river twisting and turning through a forest,
Through wild natural country.
See this river as though you're gazing at it from the vantage point of a soaring eagle or a red-tailed hawk.
See the water reflect the sunlight.
See it snake its way through the wild land.
Notice perhaps that there are places of rocky rapids and frothing water and places where the water is smooth as glass.
You may even observe a waterfall,
A point of drastic transition where the water leaves one plain and enters another.
Just observe what you can see from this soaring vision.
The quality of the water,
The clearness of the water,
The breadth of the river,
However many twists and turns it's making.
Now from your bird-like vantage point,
Dive down slowly toward the river so that you can begin floating along the stream.
Shaking off your bird-like avatar,
Envision yourself cupped in a single maple leaf floating peacefully on top of the water.
Swirling,
Floating,
Gliding along the surface.
Begin to acknowledge this change in vantage point,
This shift in your ability to see.
No longer with that bird's-eye view,
You are pulled downriver to come to whatever smooth surface or frothy rapids that lie along your path.
And not knowing what's coming can be disconcerting,
To say the least.
But that is a condition through which we must move through life.
Even if we think we can zoom out and see the biggest picture possible,
There's no real way of knowing what's coming.
There's no way to know if it will be smooth sailing,
Or if we'll need to brace ourselves for some rocky rapids.
The beauty of this vantage point along the water is that you can see the forest,
Grasslands,
The wild country that you're passing through.
You may also see creatures,
People,
Friends,
Loved ones,
Along the riverbanks as you travel.
Some of these people might float alongside you.
Some of them may be there just for a little while,
Waving you on,
Supporting your journey.
Notice who you see,
What you see,
Along the riverbanks.
Notice what animals and wildlife comes to drink from the river as you pass.
Notice what the people are doing at the riverbanks.
Notice who you see,
What you see,
Along the riverbanks,
As you glide on by.
Maybe wave back to any loved ones supporting you along your journey.
Feeling supported,
Feeling their love as you carry on down your path.
Up your floating maple leaf boat.
Dive yourself into the water.
Notice the qualities of the water as you enter.
Maybe it's night,
And that's okay.
Notice how it feels to be fully immersed in the flow of the river.
No longer just floating on the top.
No longer soaring above,
Witnessing it from a distance.
You are now in the river.
You are now of the river.
You move as it moves,
Over and through the rocks.
Over and through any other obstacles along your path.
Sometimes moving faster,
Sometimes moving slowly,
As the ripple of the water stills.
Knowing that you,
As part of the water,
Can easily move with the flow.
Survive even the steepest waterfall.
Take a moment to feel yourself moving as water,
Flowing with the pull of the river.
Feel what it feels like to be in flow with the powers of the fates,
The powers of the universe,
In the direction of the divine.
Slowly bring yourself back out of your mind's eye.
Direct your attention back to your third eye in the center of your forehead.
Again,
Revisiting whatever question you asked,
Problem that required a solution,
Any truth that you're seeking.
Give thanks for what your third eye has shown you.
Begin to come back into your body,
Deepening your breath,
Beginning to bring some movement back into your body,
Waking yourself up from your meditation.
Start to make your small movements a little larger,
Stretching your arms,
Your legs.
Take one last moment to savor this practice,
To integrate all that we've done.
It's been an honor to guide you.
Thank you for joining me.
