Transcript

This is the meeting your menstrual cycle archetypes meditation.

Find a comfortable spot to lie down and begin to relax.

Gently closing your eyes and inviting any women who feel supportive into this space with you.

Maybe it's an older version of yourself or a past version of yourself you'd like to reconnect with or feel comfortable being supported by.

Maybe it's a friend,

A mother,

A grandmother or a woman you may not have even met yet.

Imagining that these women join you and you all lie down in a circle with your heads together at the center.

Gently closing your eyes and beginning to connect with both your breath and an ancient part of yourself.

Breathing deeply into the belly and as you exhale,

Releasing everything outside of this space.

Bringing the breath in the hand to the womb and connecting here.

Feeling the womb rise and fall with every breath.

And imagining this space as a bowl.

Visualizing each inhale,

Bringing breath into the womb and spiraling.

And as you exhale,

That same breath removes any stale energy.

Breathing into the belly,

Relaxing more on every exhale.

Then bringing your focus to your mind's eye where you find yourself walking through a beautiful field.

It's the first of spring and despite the time both the sun and waxing moon share the evening sky.

You're surrounded by the most beautiful freshly bloomed flowers.

And in the distance,

A young woman runs towards you.

Her youthfulness and joy radiate from her as she excitedly waves to you.

When you finally meet,

She embraces you with both arms proclaiming how happy she is to see you.

It's as if a cool spring breeze surrounds her and the most beautiful heat lightning show fills the sky every time she speaks.

She smells of freshness and flowers.

The two of you spend hours exploring the fields,

Picking flowers,

Making plans and enjoying life like two children.

Your hearts are open and full,

Yet a sense of invincibility surrounds you as you take in all that life has to offer.

When you realize the sun has set,

She holds your face to hers.

She tells you,

It's time to move on,

My sweet friend,

But you can always return.

Honor me as your body begins to wax after your moon time departs and call on me when you need childlike joy,

Air and hope.

I am always with you.

The maiden leads you to a door of a small cottage.

A woman opens the door with the most loving smile on her face.

Her womb as full with child as the moon has now become.

She embraces you and you feel completely supported and at home in her arms.

She smells of outside and earth in the most wonderful ways.

As you enter her home,

You notice the brightness and intentional energy she has prepared in anticipation of your visit.

She invites you to eat a meal of the freshest summer vegetables,

Which she nourished and grew herself.

After eating,

She invites you to rest your head in her lap where you sit together and share with her the hopes and dreams you created with the maiden before arriving.

She lovingly takes all of them in,

Holding space in her already full womb,

And promises to help you manifest them in the brightest and purest of light.

As you finish sharing your heart with the mother,

A knock hits the door.

She smiles and tells you it's time to go.

Honor me as your body ovulates and becomes full and bright like the moon,

She says.

Call on me when you need sustaining love and connection.

You take a deep breath into your belly before the door opens,

And you see the most intriguing woman you've ever laid eyes on.

She's naked yet seems oblivious to the fact.

Her skin and feet show signs of soot,

And her hair is wild and untamed.

She smells like fire and wood,

And the confidence of her let's go jolts you up and out the mother's door.

As you step outside with this wild woman,

You notice that the leaves have changed.

It is now autumn,

And there's a crispness in the air.

The moon is waning,

And the sky is darkening.

As you trek through the woods hurriedly following her,

She speaks not a word and ignores your questions,

Then abruptly stops walking.

You arrive to a spectacular opening in the trees.

A massive fire is blazing in the center,

Taking the bite from the autumn air.

She removes your shoes,

And you begin to hear intense but magnificent drumming.

Dance,

She says,

And then she leaves your side completely embodied by the most enchanting movement.

You join her,

Slowly breaking from your shell,

Fully releasing all fear of judgment.

As the two of you move passionately and independently,

Dancing around the fire,

You feel a range of emotions unlike any other experience.

Laughter that folds you in half,

Tears that bring you to your knees,

Rage that fills you with fiery warmth.

You dance for what feels like days.

As the fire begins to die,

You feel the blood which has been filling your womb ready to be released.

She tells you it is time as her eyes light up,

And she walks you back through the woods where you stop at a cave.

Grabbing your arm,

She says,

Honor me before you bleed,

My sister.

Call upon me when you need my unapologetic strength.

I am here.

My power is your power.

You take a deep breath into your belly as you watch her run back towards the fire,

And you feel the presence of someone inside the cave.

The moon has completely left the darkened sky,

And snow begins to fall.

Come in,

Child,

You hear,

As if someone somehow knew that you were there.

You slowly enter the cave,

Taking it all in,

Breathing deeply.

There's ancient drawings covering the walls,

And despite the snow,

You feel warm and at home,

Both here and within yourself.

When you arrive to an opening of the cave,

You hear boiling water,

And her presence can be felt before seeing.

The room is lit with candles and a fire.

As the woman begins to make her way into the room,

She asks you to join her,

Seated on the earth.

She pours a cup of tea for each of you and sits in silence,

Her eyes softly closed.

Somehow you know it's not the time to speak,

But time to rest.

Her wisdom radiates from her in a palpable way,

And you're filled with gratitude for her very presence.

It's as if she's speaking to your soul in a way words are unnecessary.

Her ancient silent wisdom moves you to tears of release,

And you feel the blood of your moon begin to release as well.

She senses your nervousness and discomfort and hands you a large pot to sit on,

Filled with earthy soil,

As she says,

Fear not your blood,

My child,

For your blood is the sacred bringer of life.

Return it to the earth in gratitude as she too cultivates life.

As you sit in silence alongside this wise crone,

You reflect on the women you've met and how you embody each of their strengths as your body waxes and wanes through your own cycles.

Breathing deeply into your belly,

Imagining yourself as the maiden,

As spring,

As the mother,

As summer personified,

As the wild woman and autumn,

And as the crone,

Winter,

The new moon personified.

As you take your last sip of tea,

You know the time has come to depart.

You hear the laughter and joy of the maiden's return just outside the cave.

The crone reaches for your hands and places them on her own face.

In your mind's eye,

You see all of the places she's been and wisdom she's gained.

She says,

Sit with me when you bleed.

Call on me for guidance and I will answer in the stillness.

She kisses your hands as you make your way outside of the cave.

And as you exit the darkness to meet the maiden once again,

You are brought back to your body and the sacred space surrounded by your supportive women.

You're brought back to the breath that fills your belly,

Circling within your womb,

Connecting you to yourself at your very core.

You begin to feel the air on your skin and the cozy surface that holds you.

Gently coming back to your physical body,

Wiggling fingers and toes,

Moving and stretching in any ways necessary.

As you slowly flutter your eyes open and come back to the present moment,

Still connected with your breath,

Still connected with the maiden,

The mother,

The wild woman,

The chrome fully connected with you.
