Welcome
Welcome to the course! In this first session we'll go over some safety considerations to ensure that your practice is fully beneficial for you and so that you know how to avoid injury, and we'll make sure that you have everything you need prop-wise to continue with the course. And today's session ends with a meditation to tune into your body.

Yin and Yang
This session introduces the theory of Yin and Yang, and we'll look at some of the factors that make Yin Yoga Yin. We'll also explore the first principle of practicing Yin Yoga: finding your edge in the posture, which we'll practice in butterfly pose.

The Connective Tissue
In session three, we'll take a look at the connective tissue: what it is, and how to safely stretch into it. We'll explore the second principle of holding the Yin Yoga postures: finding stillness in the pose, and we'll learn and practice caterpillar.

Taking A Yin Approach
In this session, we'll explore how to approach our practice with a yin attitude. We'll also take a look at the third principle of holding the Yin Yoga postures: committing to hold the pose, and we'll learn and practice banana pose.

Emotional Release During The Practice
In session five, we'll look at how stored emotions can be released from the body as we release physical tension, and at how to encourage and facilitate a smooth emotional release as you practice. And we'll learn and practice a reclined twist.

Chi and Meridians: The Liver & Bladder
This session introduces the concept of chi and the meridian lines (energetic pathways), and we explore how our practice can encourage a smooth flow of chi through the meridians and a release of energetic blockages. We'll look in more detail at the liver and bladder meridians, and we'll learn and practice dragonfly pose.

Chi and Meridians: The Spleen, Heart & Lung
We'll continue our exploration of the meridians in this session, looking at the spleen, heart and lung meridian lines, and the postures that benefit each of these. We'll also learn and practice child's pose.

Yin Yoga As Meditation
Session eight explores how we can approach Yin Yoga as a meditation, and the benefits of practicing this way. We'll also learn and practice sphinx pose.
Les 9
Evolving Your Practice
As we approach the end of the course, we'll take a look at some things to consider as you continue your practice into the future. We'll also go more deeply into savasana, your relaxation pose.
Les 10
Putting It All Together
In this final, longer, session, we'll put all of the postures we've learnt together into a full sequence. Be ready with your mat to practice as soon as soon as the session begins.
