Body scanning exercises are a good way to release tension you might not even realize you're experiencing. By mentally scanning yourself, you bring awareness to every single part of your body. This sensing exercise will lead you from foot to head, noting any aches, pains, tension, or general discomfort, and then move you into an experience of the subtle body. The goal is not to relieve the pain completely, but to get to know and manage it better. It is also very helpful to do right before sleep.
