Good morning dear one.
I'm sending this little gift as an invitation to remind you to take pause.
Our days can be so busy with our family,
With our friends,
With our jobs,
With whatever's going on and we forget that we need us to.
We need our own kind awareness and attention.
Just be still with me for a moment.
Find a space or place to just come into your own body and mind.
Perhaps you're standing,
You're seated,
You can even be lying down.
Take a moment here to just begin to settle the body.
Maybe wiggling the head for a moment,
The shoulders,
The spine,
Down into the hips,
The hands and feet.
Just wiggling a little and then coming into a little bit of steadiness,
A little bit of stillness.
You don't have to be still,
Just moving towards stillness just a little bit more.
We'll begin by scanning the body,
Just inviting some gentle softening.
Starting with the top of the head,
Releasing through the eyebrows and the forehead,
Down through the face,
The jaw.
Relax the jaw.
Softening around through the ears and the back of the head,
Down the neck and across the shoulders.
Softening down through the arms,
Into the hands and fingertips.
Softening across the chest and around to the upper back,
The lower back.
Just gentle softening.
Being kind when we notice tension in any spot.
Resist the urge to shame or judge.
Just bring soft awareness there.
Softening and releasing through the belly,
Letting it extend and soften.
Releasing down through the hips,
Down the legs and into the feet and toes.
Softening into whatever surface you're on,
Just noticing the parts of your body that are connecting with whatever's beneath you.
Just feeling that solid,
Warm connection.
And as you connect,
Imagine that there are roots extending down through that surface connecting with Mother Earth.
Feel the Earth pulsing with aliveness,
Gentle love and nurturance.
Pulling that energy from the Earth's center all the way up,
Up through whatever body part is connected to the surface and following it all the way up into the heart center.
Here at the heart center,
Notice our own pulse,
The heart beating.
There are so many moments in our lives where we find ourselves suffering and falling into old patterns.
And when we can come back to this pulse within our heart center,
Reminding ourselves that we are connected all the way down through our body,
Down through the floor or the bed or wherever you are,
Connecting to the heart of the Earth.
And from there,
We connect to every single other being on this planet.
They too are suffering.
It's part of humanity.
In this suffering,
We are not alone.
I invite you to repeat these phrases to yourself loud or silently as we connect to loving kindness from a place of self compassion.
Begin by imagining the connection you have with someone else from that Earth center who is connected with you in a loving,
Uncomplicated way.
Picture them linked to you through the Earth,
However that may be.
Maybe it's in vision or maybe it's just in a feeling or sensation.
And with them in mind,
May you,
Dear one,
Be filled with loving kindness.
May you be healthy and well.
May you be free from suffering and pain.
May you live with peace and ease.
May you be filled with loving kindness.
May you be healthy,
Healed and well.
May you be free from pain and suffering.
May you live with ease and peace.
Notice the pulse in your heart getting stronger,
Filling with the loving kindness you have with this other being.
If you're able,
You may want to put a hand on the heart,
The other hand on top.
If not,
Just imagine the tender touch of yourself or maybe that being putting their hand on your shoulder,
Wrapping you in a warm embrace.
And imagine these words coming back to you and turn them inward.
May I be filled with loving kindness.
May I be healthy,
Healed and well.
May I be free from suffering and pain.
May I live with peace and ease.
Feel the breath expand your chest toward your hands if they're placed there.
Feel the full expansion of your chest,
Your heart beating with loving kindness and awareness.
Compassion for all the parts of you surviving and trying to thrive and live.
May I be filled with loving kindness.
May I be healthy,
Healed and well.
May I be free from suffering and pain.
May I live with peace and ease.
Notice the breath with loving gentle awareness.
Notice how the chest rises and falls.
Taking a moment now to drop the chin to the chest or imagine tuning in to the heart center and whispering,
I am here and I love you.
Gentle breath in and breath out.
May you be well my dear friend.
