Welcome to Tales with a Troubadour,

Where I will be sharing songs and stories to bring you home to yourself,

To give you insights into what it means to be human and what it means to be you.

So I'm going to give you a brief introduction and tell you a little bit about the song we'll be listening to,

Tell you a story,

Tell you my story,

And then we'll listen to the song and afterwards have a little check in and see how you're doing.

So before we begin,

Please let's take some deep breaths together.

So start with taking a deep in-breath and just let it all go.

Relax as you exhale and again and just sigh it out.

Let it all go.

One more.

You can even make a noise if that helps.

Just make the sound or let yourself fully release whatever feels like letting go and relaxing to you and connecting.

Now you can close your eyes at this point.

Obviously,

If you're driving or if you're moving,

Don't do that.

But just check in.

Just come into your body,

Come into yourself,

Come into where you are.

Today the story and the song is called Lovers in the Morning Light.

And this is a song about sexuality and about love and about vulnerability and connection.

And so it starts speaking about waking up beside a loved one and beginning that beautiful dance of lovemaking.

And the reason that this song is so important for me is that it talks about vulnerability and openness and being willing to be fragile,

Being willing to be gentle,

Being willing to be open about insecurities and fears and doubts and having no rush to be anywhere other than where you are.

So it's this thank you for connection,

For emotion,

For feeling,

For sexuality,

For being able to be there and be present with another person or people depending on how you roll.

But just having the opportunity to be fully oneself,

To be fully myself,

To be fully yourself in that moment with someone else.

It is one of the great blessings of sexuality.

And the song also speaks about knowing the words I've never spoken.

And so it's speaking about that incredible,

My deepest secrets,

The parts of me that I've hidden from the world for fear that they would be unacceptable to the world.

Those are the parts that you see and you love me and you hold me and I feel safe in that.

And isn't that such a blessing?

And then the song also talks about staying still,

Wait,

Don't move,

I feel almost everything.

And it's this sense of overwhelming connection and sometimes so overwhelming that it needs no movement.

It doesn't need some performance based,

A time based,

Goal based experience.

It just needs presence and sitting there,

Breathing and connecting and crying and laughing and making love and doing it gently and doing it slowly and taking the time to really know oneself through another,

Know another through oneself,

Have that beautiful mirror so cleanly wiped that nothing can be hidden and all is accepted.

What an incredible gift.

And at last we rest.

That's how the song ends.

And so that's all I'd like to say for now.

Please just take some more deep breaths,

Relax,

Close your eyes if you can,

Lie down if you want to.

If you fall asleep,

It's fine,

But just connect with the words,

Let them create images in your mind,

Be present and accepting of anything that comes up,

Whether it's tears or laughter or fear or anger or any of that,

Just allow it to exist,

Accept it as the song takes you on a journey and I will reconnect with you afterwards.

So one more deep breath,

Let it out.

Thank you for being here.

Come on.

Lovers in the morning light I teach caress Floats upon our skin Your name upon my breath You know every word The ones I've never spoke That no one's ever heard Lovers in the morning light Lovers in the morning light Wait,

Don't move,

I feel Almost everything Delicate revealed Laying upon your breast We speak in velvet tongues Until at last we rest Lovers in the morning light Lovers in the morning light Welcome back.

Take a deep breath.

Let it out.

Let it all go.

Where are you right now?

Note any sensations,

Any thoughts,

Anything that's coming up for you,

Anything in your body,

Anything in your mind.

Let it exist.

Let it go.

Non-judgment,

Just presence with whatever is.

You can open your eyes whenever you're ready.

You can congratulate yourself.

Well done for sitting,

For being present,

For knowing yourself,

For hearing whatever it is that you needed to hear today.

That's all for today.

And thank you for your presence.

Until next time.

I was just at your live Event earlier this morning, and I made a comment that you reminded me of death cab for cutie and I hope it doesn’t bother you when you are compared to other musicians, but I only mean it as a huge compliment. This song made me think of Glen Hansard from the movie Once. And again, I don’t mean to keep comparing you, but this is the highest compliment as I adore them bothπŸ’• your music is so moving! This song in particular brought me back to the love of my life on the other side. We had that connection during lovemaking and it brought a tear to my eye. Bittersweet and beautiful.πŸ’•

A pleasant experience unlike any meditation I’ve done before. To start with some derp breathing, then explore a story through a song was an interesting take on meditation. Of course it was helpful that the narration gave clear guidance and the song was enjoyable as well.
