Welcome to Tales with a Troubadour,

Where I will be sharing the stories that go with the deep songs that myself,

A troubadour,

Writes.

Songs of the heart,

Songs of the journey of being human.

Today's song is called Every Leaf,

And it has a story I am very excited to tell.

And I think first let's just take a moment wherever you are,

And if you can,

Sit down,

If you can,

If you want to lie down.

And let's take three deep breaths together.

Okay,

Welcome,

Welcome here.

So this story is of a mystical experience that I had some years ago.

I was deeply struggling with depression,

With chronic pain,

And wasn't sure what direction to turn or what to do.

And chose to use plant medicine and had an incredibly expansive experience for the first time.

And as long as I could remember,

I went beyond the shell of myself and realized that I was a part of something infinite and beautiful and all loving and all understanding and all forgiving and all kind.

And then went home the next day,

Woke up in the morning and still felt depressed,

Still had chronic pain,

And I didn't know what to do.

I was like,

What do I,

How do I combine this physical intensity with this divine experience?

And I went and I sat outside under a tree and I picked up my guitar for the first time in months.

And I looked at a leaf and the leaf suddenly became the reminder of everything I'd experienced that if I could magnify that leaf,

I could keep going to infinity.

Or close enough that it makes no difference to me.

And if I zoomed out from that leaf,

I could do the same into infinity.

And yet there I was in this whole unfolding.

And it just gave me such a peaceful moment.

And at that moment,

This song arrived.

So we're going to listen to the song and you can just keep your breath deep,

Keep flowing,

Stay present,

Enjoy whatever images,

Feelings,

Experiences it brings up for you.

And I will rejoin you after the song to check in and say farewell.

Thank you for being here.

In every leaf,

A universe,

In every verse,

A unity of leaves and trees and mysteries,

Oh who knows what it means.

In every leaf,

A universe,

In every verse,

A unity of leaves and trees and mysteries,

Oh who knows what it means.

I am sitting in your shade,

Filled with gratitude for every leaf you've made.

The sun is shining bright today.

So I'll rest a while and soon I will be on my way.

In every leaf,

A universe,

In every verse,

A unity of leaves and trees and mysteries,

Oh who knows what it means.

I read futures in their veins.

Simply telling me that life always finds a way until I am back home again.

I will sit here and wonder,

Learning how to pray.

In every leaf,

A universe,

In every verse,

A unity of leaves and trees and mysteries,

Oh who knows what it means.

Can it be in what it seems?

I am all that I have seen.

Whether sacred or unclear,

I am part of everything.

In every leaf,

A universe,

In every verse,

A unity of leaves and trees and mysteries,

Oh who knows what it means.

In every leaf,

A universe,

In every verse,

A unity of leaves and trees and mysteries,

Oh who knows what it means.

Now look at all these scenes.

Welcome back in your own time.

Take a deep breath,

Let it out.

Open your eyes if they're closed.

Kind of welcome back to the body,

To the present.

I hope that this song has brought you something of value in this moment,

Connected you to the self you are,

The incredibly special unfolding of you.

And thank you for joining me for this tale with the troubadour.

Thank you for the blessing of your presence.

Thank you for being on this journey with me.

And I look forward to sharing again soon.
