Welcome.
My name is Natalie and I am so grateful you are here with me today.
Take a moment to arrive.
If it feels safe,
Close your eyes and take a slow breath in.
And exhale,
Letting go.
For a moment,
You don't need to accomplish anything.
You don't need to improve yourself.
You don't need to catch up.
You don't need to make this meditation productive.
Simply.
Notice your body.
And feel the weight of your body being supported.
Let your shoulders soften.
Let your jaw relax.
And let your belly be soft.
Maybe you've learned to measure your days by how much you achieve.
How many things you finish.
How useful you have been.
But your value is not a to-do list.
You don't become more worthy because you did more today.
And you don't become less worthy because you rest it.
Take a break.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
And exhale fully.
Imagine putting your to-do list down beside you.
It will still be there later.
But for now,
You can simply breathe.
Notice how strange it can feel to do nothing.
Perhaps your mind immediately says,
You should be doing something,
You should check this,
You should answer that.
Just gently say to yourself,
Not right now.
Right now,
I rest.
Maybe there is some resistance there,
But still.
Right now,
I rest.
And feel your breath moving through your body.
And silently repeat.
I am more than what I accomplish.
Rest is not wasted time.
I don't have to earn my right to pause.
I am allowed to simply exist.
And take three slow breaths.
And notice what happens when you stop asking yourself to produce something.
Maybe there is a little more space.
Maybe there is relief.
Maybe nothing changes.
All of it is okay.
Just allow yourself.
So simple.
Moments.
To rest.
And then gently coming back.
Begin to move your fingers.
Toes Maybe moving your shoulders.
Make the moves a little bit bigger.
Turning your head from right to left.
Take a fuller breath.
And slowly,
Slowly open your eyes.
You are ready to return to your day.
But perhaps you can leave with this reminder.
You are a human being,
Not doing.
And you're allowed to rest.
So try to introduce more moments of rest in between your day.
Maybe setting an alarm,
Maybe every two hours you come back to this practice or any other practice.
You come back to your breath.
Because you are a human being.
Until the next time,
Namaste.
