Welcome.
My name is Natalie and I'm so glad you're here.
Today's practice is about perspective.
It's one of the most powerful and often overlooked leadership skills because the leaders who create meaningful change are not always the ones with the most information.
They're the ones who can shift perspective.
The ones who can zoom out far enough to access clarity and a deeper sense of knowing.
And that is what we're going to practice today.
So take a moment to settle in.
Find a comfortable position sitting or lying down and take a nice gentle breath.
If your eyes are open I invite you to gently close them now if that feels comfortable.
Take a moment to fully arrive in this moment and check in with your body.
Loosen any tightness by wiggling or rolling a little bit.
Notice the natural rhythm of your breath.
No need to force anything.
No need to change anything.
Just notice.
And if it feels good take a nice deep inhale.
Hold it and slowly steadily exhale.
Let's do that one more time.
Nice deep inhale.
Hold it.
And exhale nice and slowly.
Now I invite you to imagine a warm,
Bright,
Comforting light entering the top of your head.
With each exhale it moves slowly downward.
First you're going to feel it warming your face,
Softening your forehead,
Gently softening your jaw,
Opening your throat a little bit,
Moving down into your chest and creating a warmth there.
Slowly moving into your belly.
Feeling your belly expanding with your breath.
Feel it travel down into your hands and feet.
Let your body settle.
And tell your system that it's safe to release right now in this moment.
Take one more breath in and let the light settle fully through you.
Gentle and warming and soothing.
And now we're going to work with perspective because where you stand determines what you can see.
And what you can see shapes the decisions that you make.
So I'm going to offer you a series of prompts and with each one I want you to imagine your perspective expanding,
Zooming outward layer by layer.
This is going to be fun.
I want you to remember that you are more than your thoughts.
Zoom out beyond your thoughts.
I want you to remember that you are more than your body.
Zoom out beyond your body.
You are more than your current circumstances.
Move and zoom out beyond your current circumstances.
You are more than all the roles that you fulfill in your life right now.
Zoom out beyond those roles.
You are more than your revenue or your profit or the goals that you reach.
Zoom out well beyond those.
You are more than the story that you're telling yourself right now.
Zoom out beyond the story.
Keep going.
Imagine yourself zooming out and moving higher and higher until you are floating or flying above it all.
You're floating well up above,
Beyond your work,
Your life and all your responsibilities.
You're free.
And from this space of freedom and expansion,
Look down and experience the distance and the new perspective this gives you.
So from up here,
What do you notice?
Is there anything that has become less urgent all of a sudden now that you're up here?
What has become more true?
Does anything feel smaller than it did before?
And what still matters,
Even from all this distance?
Take a moment to feel it.
Now,
From this expanded view and this heightened perspective,
Bring to mind something that's been taking up a lot of your energy.
Perhaps it's a decision you need to make or a challenge you're facing or a situation that feels close and hard.
Let it come into your awareness and slowly zoom into that.
Bring it closer and closer.
Keep zooming in until you're back inside it.
You're fully immersed in this decision or this challenge.
Let yourself feel what it's like when your entire field of view is filled with just this one thing.
And remember that this is where many leaders operate.
We're inside the pressure.
Inside the immediacy and inside the noise.
And from here,
It's very easy to lose access to our vision,
Our values,
And we forget that we have a choice.
So take a breath here.
Let's shift.
Let's shift.
Let's zoom back out slowly,
Steadily.
Let's create some space between you and this situation.
Let's get you back up above it with that heightened and increased perspective.
And from this wider view,
Reconnect with what matters most to you,
Your vision,
Your values,
The kind of person that you are committed to showing up as every day.
Let those come into your awareness now.
And now from here,
Gently ask,
What does the situation look like through the lens of this perspective?
What is this moment asking of me?
Not just as a problem solver,
Or a manager,
Or a parent,
But as a leader.
There is a part of you that can always access this view,
A part of you that is not overwhelmed,
Not in the thick of things,
Not reacting,
But responding,
And aware,
And intentional.
And this is the part of you that leads.
This is the part of you that you need to be connected to.
And this is the part of you that everyone around you needs to see.
Well done for taking this journey.
Now let's begin to bring your awareness back to your breath.
Start to feel the rise and fall of your chest.
Feel your body in the space around you in this moment.
Maybe wiggle your fingers and toes.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Before you move on to the rest of your day,
Take a moment to notice if anything shifted,
If anything feels clearer.
And remember that the Zoom is always available to you.
Even when you're in the middle of a decision,
In a difficult conversation,
In a moment of pressure,
You can always step back and reconnect and choose your response from a place of clarity and peace and connection to yourself.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
My name is Natalie and I look forward to being with you again soon.
