This practice is designed to help you start your day feeling grounded,
Open to possibility and connected to what really matters.
So today we're going to be sitting with a very simple but very powerful question.
What if it's actually easier than you've been thinking?
Here's something that many of us who are high achieving were never taught.
Fulfillment doesn't live at the finish line.
We're told that once we reach the goal,
Close the deal or build the thing,
Then we will feel a sense of accomplishment.
Then we will find what we've been looking for.
But what if that's not actually true?
What if the experience of building,
Creating,
Leading isn't something to push through but something to fully experience?
Because the process of bringing something to life changes you.
It is a process of becoming.
So what if the way you lead your life and your work is the experience that you've been chasing all along?
So I invite you to find a comfortable position.
Take a moment to settle in.
If your eyes are open,
Gently close them now and take a moment to arrive.
Landing in your body in this moment.
Welcome your breath.
Begin to notice your breathing.
There's no need to change it.
Just be with it.
Soften your exhale.
Now breathe in and just let it go.
With your next breath,
Allow yourself to access joy.
Welcome compassion and warmth into this space in this moment.
With your next in-breath,
Smile.
Soften your face and bring gentle softness around your eyes.
Again,
Deep breath in and release.
Let's invite one percent more ease into your body and your mind right now.
Let your shoulders drop slightly and as you exhale,
Let a subtle sense of openness move through you.
Now I'd like to invite you to gently bring to mind something that you're currently working toward.
A big goal or a project or a big decision that has to be made.
It's a next step that truly matters to you.
Now hold it in your awareness.
Bring it clearly to mind and ask yourself,
What if this didn't have to feel so hard?
If it's important,
You're allowed to move through it differently.
We're often taught that effort equals struggle.
That if it isn't hard,
It's not going to be meaningful.
But what if effort could feel focused,
Energized,
Alive,
Maybe even fun,
Maybe freeing?
And what if the path forward isn't about pushing harder but about aligning more deeply?
Slowly deepen your inhale and with your next exhale,
Exhale,
Access a little bit more joy.
One percent more joy.
One percent more ease.
Now consider,
What if the feeling that you're working so hard toward is available to you right here?
Not at the finish line but in this moment,
Right now.
Let yourself access just a glimpse of it.
A feeling of clarity,
Confidence,
Energy.
Maybe there's more trust.
Whatever it is for you,
It's right here.
Even if it's just one percent of it,
You can feel it right now.
So silently repeat with me,
This experience is part of it.
This moment counts.
Every step counts.
This moment is part of it.
You're not just working toward something,
You're becoming.
You're becoming someone who knows how to create without burning out.
You're becoming someone who knows how to lead without burning out.
Leading without forcing.
You're becoming someone who can undertake big ambitious projects without losing themselves in the process.
When we look back,
Often even our greatest challenges can sometimes be what we feel the proudest of and we can even experience a sense of fondness for that time in our lives.
And from this perspective,
The challenges fade away.
We remember the person we became in the process.
The person who takes on hard things.
The person who can commit.
The person who can overcome big challenges.
And what we remember is the feeling of accomplishment and joy and connection to other people around us as we did it.
So what if you've already arrived?
What if by being on this journey and undertaking this project,
You can already access this feeling?
This could be the moment that you've been waiting for all this time.
What if this was the feeling that you've been waiting for right here,
Right now?
What if it could be that easy?
And what if ease isn't the absence of challenge,
But just the way that you meet it?
What if by letting yourself feel this feeling right now,
All the obstacles start to melt?
Take a breath here and let that land.
This is powerful work.
Begin to bring your awareness back to this moment.
Start to notice the rise and fall of your chest.
Feel the feeling of your body in your seat.
Take a moment to bring a little bit of movement back into your body.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
And before you move on into your day,
I invite you to take a moment to think what would it look like to carry this forward into the next hour?
Not to do less,
But just doing it from a different place.
And here's what I'd love for you to take forward with you into the next part of your day.
It doesn't have to feel like a constant push.
You are allowed to lead and live from a place that actually feels good.
That is conscious leadership.
