Welcome,
Friends.
To this Buck Full Moon Relaxation Meditation.
The buck moon takes its name from the time of year when male deer begin to regrow their antlers.
Many Native American communities recognize this season as one of renewal,
Growth,
And quiet strength.
The full moon itself is often seen as a time of endings and release.
A moment to let go of what no longer serves us and create space for new beginnings.
Just as the buck sheds and regrows his antlers,
We too are invited to release old habits and beliefs or burdens we've been carrying,
Making room to move forward and find inner strength.
Tonight as your body relaxes,
Allow yourself to rest with the intention of letting go.
Trusting that what is meant for you will continue to grow.
Now find a comfortable position.
You might choose to lie down with your legs long and your arms resting comfortably by your sides.
Or maybe you sit in a supportive,
Relaxed seat.
Go ahead and If it feels safe to do so,
Gently close your eyes.
Just soften your gaze.
Take a long,
Slow breath in.
And slowly let it go.
Again,
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
Now begin to notice.
The natural rhythm of your breath.
There's nothing to change.
Nothing to force.
Simply notice.
As your breath gradually becomes slower and deeper,
Perhaps you begin to notice your body softening.
Your mind becoming quieter and.
.
.
A gentle sense of calm settling over you.
Now in your mind's eye,
Imagine that it's twilight.
The air is cool and still.
You find yourself walking along a gravel path.
That winds gently up a mountainside.
With every step.
Your body.
Little softer.
A little more relaxed.
Above you.
The buck full moon begins to rise.
Bathing the landscape in its silvery light.
A gentle moonbeam reaches down and rests softly upon the crown of your head.
Feel its cool,
Calming light.
Spreading across your forehead.
Soothing away any tension.
It softens the muscles around your eyes.
Your eyelids become pleasantly heavy.
Light flows down across your cheeks.
Your nose.
Your mouth.
Your jaw unclenches.
Even the tiny muscles around your ears.
Relax.
Perhaps the quiet crunch of the gravel beneath your feet becomes a little clearer as you continue your peaceful walk.
The moonlight now flows down into your neck.
And shoulders.
Melting away any weight you've been carrying.
It travels down your upper arms.
Your elbows.
Your forearms.
Into the palms of your hands.
And all the way to your fingertips.
Your hands feel warm.
Relaxed.
Perhaps.
Breathing is slow and effortless now.
With each inhale,
Your belly gently rises and with each exhale,
It softly falls.
Each breath inviting you deeper.
Into relaxation.
The moonlight continues down through your chest.
You're back.
Your belly.
It releases any tension in your lower back.
And your hips.
Allow the whole core of your body to soften.
As you near the mountain summit,
The light flows into your thighs.
Your knees.
Your calves.
Your ankles.
Your feet.
And finally,
Your toes.
Your entire body is now bathed.
In the peaceful glow of the buck full moon.
You feel completely supported.
Completely at ease.
As you arrive at the mountaintop.
You pause.
Standing quietly nearby is a magnificent buck.
He's been peacefully grazing on the sweet mountain grass.
He looks up.
There's no fear.
Only calm awareness.
You gently sit down,
Giving him space.
And he peacefully returns to grazing.
You notice his quiet strength.
His steady presence.
His antlers are beginning to grow,
Carrying the promise of what is yet to come.
By Autumn.
They'll be fully formed.
Ready for whatever the changing seasons may bring.
And as you sit together beneath the moon,
Perhaps,
You begin to reflect on your own journey.
Notice how you too have grown.
Notice the challenges you may have faced and the quiet strengths that have carried you this far.
Perhaps there's something that's been in the back of your mind that You're now ready to release.
An old story,
A habit,
A fear.
Maybe a belief that's been holding you back from becoming who you want to be.
If something comes to mind.
Imagine offering it to the light of the full moon.
Simply allow it to be carried away.
Then notice what remains.
The strength.
That's always been within you.
The wisdom you've gained.
Possibilities lying ahead.
For the next few moments.
Simply.
Rest here.
Allowing the quiet strength of the Bak Moon to fill your heart.
Relaxed.
And resting in stillness.
Until you hear.
Friends,
It's time to begin our journey back.
As you begin to bring small movements back to your body.
The buck lifts his head and for a brief moment your eyes meet again.
Then he quietly turns and disappears into the moonlit trees.
Take one final slow,
Deep breath in.
And gently let it go.
When you're ready.
Softly open your eyes.
May you carry the strength and quiet confidence of the Buck Full Moon with you.
Trusting in your own capacity to release,
To grow.
And to begin again.
Namaste.
