Moana Inspired Bedtime Story

Bedtime with Mrs.

Honeybee Today we'll be exploring the world of Moana.

I am Moana of Mochino.

All you have to do is close your eyes,

Get cozy,

And listen to the sound of my voice.

Mrs.

Honeybee will be your guide.

Aboard my boat,

I will sail across the sea.

Let's begin.

The sand is warm and soft as you sit on the beach.

You're a little sleepy today.

You spent all morning collecting pretty shells and playing in the cool ocean water.

The water is salty and washing ashore all around your ankles.

You see palm trees in the distance and feel the warm summer air on your face.

You breathe in deeply through your nose and you feel calm.

Suddenly,

You hear feet rushing towards you across the beach.

When you look up,

Moana is headed towards you.

First,

I'm not a princess.

I'm the daughter of the chief.

She smiles when you wave at her.

I have to go see Maui.

She calls as she runs towards you,

Panting.

Maui's got a new surfboard for me.

Want to come on an adventure?

Um,

What?

You giggle and nod.

How can you say no to that?

Adventuring with Moana is the best.

I said help me!

We'll need to go all the way through the jungle to get to the other beach across the island to get to Maui,

Explains Moana.

Let's go!

Together,

You and Moana head into the jungle.

The trees grow so close together here that no sunlight can make its way in,

And it's very dark.

The ground is cool under your toes,

And the twigs and leaves that you step on make rustling noises.

You can hear birds chirping and monkeys making silly noises.

You walk on a long tree trunk that has fallen over a small babbling brook.

Little fish swim in the river below you.

As you walk on the fallen tree,

You put one foot in front of the other and stick your hands out wide for balance.

One foot at a time,

You make it to the other side of the river.

With both feet you jump and land back on the shore.

You run and catch up to Moana,

Who has found and fashioned a little flower necklace.

She looks beautiful in her homemade plant jewelry,

And you ask her to make some for you too.

You continue wandering along until you find the perfect plant,

A small purple flower that is gorgeous.

She takes the flower and creates your very own flower necklace.

You are calm and happy wandering through the jungle with Moana.

Just when you begin to think that you and Moana might be lost,

You realize you can hear waves crashing against a nearby shore.

We're close to the beach,

Says Moana excitedly.

She leads you through the trees and you step out into the sun.

You have to squint through the bright light before you realize that Maui is standing right in front of you.

He grins happily and gestures towards a shiny new surfboard stuck in the golden sand behind him.

It's actually Maui shapeshifter,

Demigod of the wind and sea,

Hero of man.

What do you think he asks happily?

I made it myself.

I interrupted from the top.

Thank you.

You're the best,

Maui,

Moana answers.

Moana turns towards you.

And thank you too.

I wouldn't have had as much fun if I went through that jungle alone.

It was so great having you along.

You two should ride the surfboard back to your village.

It'll be more exciting than going through the jungle again,

Maui suggests.

Maui,

Shapeshifter,

Demigod of the wind and sea.

That does sound exciting,

Giggles Moana.

She takes the surfboard and carries it toward the ocean before gesturing you toward her.

Come on.

The ocean is calling us.

You raise forward and the water splashes beneath your feet.

The tide is a little chilly and it sends a shiver up your spine.

But you can't wait to go surfboarding with Moana.

As Moana paddles the surfboard away from the beach,

Maui waves at the both of you.

Soon the big demigod is just a little dot on the coast.

The surfboard starts to glide over the water as Moana expertly guides it.

She's a great surfboarder.

Water sprays against your face as you hang on tight.

You soar up the side of a tall wave and fly through the air over the water,

Landing with a big splash.

It's so much fun.

You help her paddle left side,

Right side,

Left side,

Right side,

Left side,

Right side.

A little later you can see Moana's village.

You two surf right up onto the beach.

You've made it home.

She gives you a big hug.

Thank you,

Says Moana.

Today was so much fun.

We have to go on another adventure tomorrow.

You smile and agree.

You're so excited for another journey.

Always remember that Mrs.

Honeybee believes in you.

You are special and you are loved.

I can't wait to see you again.
