Welcome to day two of A Course in Miracles.
You know,
A miracle is merely a change in perception.
This comes from The Course in Miracles and there's this really amazing song called Holy Now by Peter Mayer and he talks about being a child and you know loving to go to church because it felt really holy and you know he would watch sort of what the priest would do or you know get the holy water and he thought you know those are the holy moments and the song is all about that as he grew up he realized that everything was holy,
That everything was a miracle,
That the way that a flower grows is a miracle,
That the way that a heart beats,
That the body is able to function and breathe,
That it is all a miracle and that there is a reverence for life that he has all the time now.
So a miracle is merely a change in perception.
I invite us to bring that into our day today and the first exercise today is to close your eyes if that feels comfortable.
Take a deep breath.
Just center yourself here.
Open your eyes and whatever you see in front of you begin to say out loud or think,
I have given everything I see all the meaning it has for me.
Whatever it is that you see in front of you,
Try not to specifically pick anything,
Whatever your eyes gaze upon,
I have given everything I see all the meaning it has for me.
I have given this cabinet in front of me all the meaning it has for me,
I have given this heater in front of me all the meaning it has for me.
I have given this television in front of me all the meaning it has for me.
I have given this hand in front of me all the meaning it has for me.
Keep going around the room and doing this,
Turning all around you,
Indiscriminately applying this to everything that you see,
Not trying to find any specific object.
I have given everything I see all the meaning it has for me.
Continue to apply this simple principle throughout your day as you remember.
Know that there is an undoing of ideas that is happening through these very simple exercises and it is leading us to a greater vision of ourself.
It is leading us to a return to love away from fear,
To the miracle which is the reverence for life that is here all the time.
I know that when we are in reverence for life that we are unable to create atrocities that we see in the world,
That we are unable to pollute the earth,
That we are unable to to be in unconscious relationship with each other.
So I thank you for saying yes to life today,
For saying yes to the miracle that your life is.
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Namaste.
