Welcome to this meditation.
You are safe in this space and I hope you enjoy your time here.
I want you to get in a comfortable position,
Whether it's sitting up or laying down.
Allow yourself to relax.
Unclench your jaw and soften your brows,
Letting go of the tension.
Take a breath in through your nose and slowly exhale through your mouth.
Now,
In this meditation,
I want to talk about slowing down.
One of the best pieces of advice and the most simple that I heard was from a woman in her 90s who had a cooking show on YouTube.
She said in one of her videos,
And I quote,
One of the best things in life is to have patience.
You have to have patience to do anything.
She said this as she was chopping vegetables for her meal she was making.
That really resonated with me because it made me realize every singular thing throughout our day,
No matter how small,
Requires a level of patience.
Sometimes,
We find ourselves trying to rush throughout our day,
Whether it be our daily routines,
When we're doing a workout,
When we're cooking a meal,
And the list goes on.
It can even happen on a meditation like this one.
Ask yourself,
Am I truly present in this moment and absorbing this conversation or am I waiting for this to be over so I can say I've meditated today?
There is no wrong answer and I still appreciate you either way.
I just want you to be honest with yourself.
What you need is patience,
Not perfection.
Once again,
Patience,
Not perfection.
Now,
I want you to close your eyes and repeat these affirmations out loud or in your head.
I have patience for myself.
I have patience for others.
I have patience for everything that I do.
I value patience over perfection.
I have patience in my daily life.
I am fully present in this moment.
Now,
You can open your eyes.
Take a moment to soak in the environment around you.
What do you smell?
What do you feel?
What do you see?
What do you feel?
By being present,
You are being patient.
Patience and presence are closely related like siblings.
The more patience you have for life,
The more present you are,
And there is no greater present than that.
I hope you have a beautiful rest of your day.
