Hi,
I'm MG and this is a bread crumb from the soul.
It's just one of many,
But if you found this one,
This one has found you.
White whale floats,
Nudging her calves to breathe,
Fill their lungs,
Feel the warmth of the sun,
So different from the cold of the depths of the sea.
White whale lets the meaning of this practice,
As necessary as it is beautiful,
Be derived by the calves through experience and repetition.
At first,
The calf learns that the pressure they feel inside,
The pain,
Which comes almost suddenly since they cannot yet anticipate the signals,
Finds relief with the first breath of air.
The calf emerges,
Breathes,
The entire chemistry of their body changes instantly.
The pain disappears,
The relief is immediate.
However,
It will still take the mother much insistence for this breathing practice to fully take root in her baby's awareness.
Once the calf has learned the basics of survival,
Breathing,
And has risen to the surface,
No longer in the grip of panic and pain,
They discover something new.
Waves to play with,
The sun whose warmth penetrates deep,
Boats,
Ships,
New living beings,
And the desire to dive deep again,
Which now no longer carries the obviousness of compulsion,
Nor the lack of prospects,
But becomes a choice that delights,
Just as delightful has become the surfacing itself.
All of this,
The mother,
White whale,
Teaches simply by relying on instinct and repetition.
She knows that by not giving up,
Her baby will learn about life,
About survival and play,
About pleasure,
About choice,
About the sea.
And this is pure wisdom,
For it contains all the necessary elements.
1.
Presence 2.
Perseverance 3.
Trust 4.
Hope 5.
Experience 6.
The Unknown The perfect formula for a healthy growth.
Whatever newness you long for,
And that yet frightens you,
Take yourself by the hand.
Nod yourself gently to come to the surface.
Trust that your experience will teach you well and everything that you need.
Do this over and over again.
Hope for the best,
But with no expectations,
No judging,
No rush.
Just be there,
To remind yourself to breathe and breathe and breathe again,
Till it becomes spontaneous and effortless.
Then nod yourself a little more,
To come up and breathe,
Knowing that the time has come to learn something else.
Let yourself be surprised by what that might be.
Nothing is ever wasted.
Whether it's the warmth of the sun,
Or a sudden shark that you need to instantly escape.
You will learn a lot from sharks,
So do that too,
Over and over again.
So that whatever you long for,
You will not allow yourself to not have it,
Just because you're too afraid to come to the surface and get it.
Keep breathing then.
Keep showing up for yourself.
Know that I'm here,
Accompanying you,
Nudging you,
Always,
Until you discover the waves and the sun.
See you next time.
