This is a seated breath awareness practice based on mindfulness teachings and writings by Thich Nhat Hanh. Anyone can practice this in any position, and it is a guided practice. "Breathing in, you are aware that you are breathing in. Breathing out, you are aware that you are breathing out. During such moments of breathing practice, focus your mind on nothing but the breath..."

Transcript

Find a comfortable seated position and become aware of the breath.

Today I'm sitting in vajrasana,

The thunderbolt pose.

Hips are seated on the heels.

The spine is straight.

Shoulders are aligned with the hips.

The chin is level.

And become aware of the breath.

Breathing in,

You're aware that you're breathing in.

Breathing out,

You're aware that you're breathing out.

During such moments of breathing practice,

Focus your mind on nothing but the breath.

Useless and scattered thoughts will cease,

Allowing the mind to dwell in mindfulness.

When you are aware of the breath,

You are dwelling in mindfulness.

Dwelling in mindfulness,

You cannot be led astray by any thoughts or sensations.

With just one breath,

You can attain awakening.

Breathing in,

You're aware that you're breathing out.

Breathing out,

You're aware that you're breathing out.
