Welcome to Meditation Break.
This is Mary Phelan.
Today's meditation is called Sleep.
This is a meditation designed to use while going to sleep.
It's okay to allow yourself to fall asleep at any point during this meditation as there is no call back at the end.
Make yourself comfortable and relax.
Allow your body to let go of all the stress and tension that it holds onto.
Take a deep breath and as you exhale,
See this tension leaving you.
Your body knows how to relax and it is doing this now.
If any thoughts come into your mind,
Just allow them to move on through.
Allow what is to be.
Even if you have had issues with sleeping in the past,
That is behind you now and sleep as a dear friend.
You continue to be safe when you sleep deeply.
You are loved and watched over by the universe.
You can trust yourself to wake up when you need to and you can trust the universe to hold you in its arms.
It is safe for you to go to sleep and to stay asleep and get a good night's rest.
Your body knows how to relax and sleep deeply and you allow it to do this.
Feel the warmth of this relaxing power enter into your feet,
Both feet at the same time.
Feel it move through your feet,
Muscles relaxing.
Feel the warmth continue to move up your legs,
Relaxing the muscles,
Lengthening them,
Soothing them and soothing the nerves and electrical impulses.
You feel your legs relax completely.
This relaxing power continues up through your body,
Through your lower abdomen,
Your upper abdomen and your chest.
You feel yourself letting go of all that you hold onto there.
A great weight has been lifted off your chest.
You feel your core let go of constrictions and restrictions.
You feel at peace.
Feel the warmth enter your fingers,
Both hands at the same time.
You feel this relaxation move up through your hands and fingers,
Muscles becoming loose and at peace,
Moving up your forearms to your elbows,
To your upper arms,
Muscles relaxing and letting go.
Now you feel this relaxing warmth enter the base of your spine,
Spreading warmth in all directions,
Your lower back,
Moving up to your middle back,
Spreading the warmth in all directions,
To your upper back and on up to your shoulders.
You can feel your shoulders relaxing as if warm fingers are massaging all the tension out of them.
You feel yourself sinking into the bed.
The bed holds you gently.
Your neck relaxes and the muscles lengthen,
Becoming loose and at peace.
You feel your neck and spine align naturally.
This warmth spreads up through your neck and around your scalp.
Your scalp is relaxed.
This peace and calm moves past your scalp to your temples and your forehead.
It feels as though warm fingers are massaging all the tension from these areas.
This relaxing energy now moves to your face,
Relaxing your cheeks,
Your jaw,
Your face,
Your eyes,
And your chin.
There is a comfortable gap between your teeth.
You are completely relaxed and at peace.
You are loved.
You are perfect,
Just as you are.
It is safe and perfect to enter into a deep,
Deep sleep.
This will association of power within parts of your body resolve to influence your sleep.
