Welcome to this honoring of the full pink moon in April,
My friend.
This is one of those moon names that can be a little misleading at first because the moon itself won't actually look pink.
The name pink moon comes from early springtime when some of the first wildflowers start to bloom and the earth begins to soften back into life.
And honestly,
That's the perfect metaphor for what this moon can represent in you.
This moon is often associated with feminine energy.
Not female as a gender,
But feminine as in the receptive,
Intuitive,
Heart-led,
Emotionally intelligent aspect of human beings.
It's linked with love,
Passion,
Romance,
Compassion,
And emotional healing.
It's also said that the pink moon can bring positive shifts in love.
And maybe even more importantly,
It can help you become more conscious of what you say and how you express yourself.
As a note,
If you're listening to this while driving or walking,
You can just listen now and come back later for the ritual with your materials.
If you're already settled in and want to do it with me,
Go ahead and pause to gather your materials now.
First is going to be three dried bay leaves,
A marker,
A lighter,
And a fireproof container.
And just a quick safety note,
If you're burning anything,
Please do it in a safe place.
And if fire isn't an option for you,
I'll give you an alternative version as we go on.
All right,
Let's start by landing.
Take a slow inhale and a steady exhale.
Let your shoulders drop,
Unclench your jaw,
And let your body receive the support underneath you.
Inhale.
The pink moon represents rebirth,
Growth,
And renewal,
And seasonally,
It often marks the moment where spring truly begins to speak.
Even if it's still cold where you are,
Even if you're still waiting to feel fully ready,
Nature is here to remind you.
Things can be dormant and still be alive.
Things can be slow and still be real.
Things can be tender and still be powerful.
And this moon adds another layer,
Love.
Not the performative kind,
Not the all-be-lovable-if kind,
But the deep kind.
The kind of love that requires honesty.
The kind of love that asks you to speak clearly.
The kind of love that invites emotional healing.
This is why the pink moon is often linked with relationships.
Romantic relationships,
Yes,
But also family relationships,
Friendships,
Business partnerships,
And especially your relationship with yourself.
Because how you love yourself shapes how you love everyone else.
Now here's what I find really interesting.
This moon is said to help us become more conscious of what we say and how we express ourselves.
And that matters because so many relationship moons don't come from one huge event.
They come from thousands of small moments where we didn't say what we meant.
Where we said I'm fine when we weren't.
Where we swallowed our truth to keep the peace.
Where we hinted,
Avoided,
Assumed,
Hoped they'd read our minds,
Tried to be easy,
Tried to be good,
Tried to be low-maintenance,
Tried to be strong.
And what happens when you don't express yourself clearly?
Your nervous system holds it.
Your body holds it.
Your heart tightens around it.
So in this pink moon,
You're being invited into something simple but potent.
Speak more consciously.
Love more consciously.
Release what blocks your heart.
Not with drama.
Not with blame.
But with truth.
Now seasonally,
Spring is not aggressive.
It doesn't want to force a flower to bloom by yelling at it.
Spring is patient and persistent.
It's soft strength.
And this is an important message for relationships too.
Sometimes you think the only way to create change is to push harder,
Prove a point when an argument get louder or get colder.
But spring energy says,
What if growth is allowed to be gentle?
What if healing is allowed to be slow?
What if truth is allowed to be clear without being cruel?
This is a moon for repair.
A moon for renewal.
A moon for emotional honesty starting with you.
So before we begin the ritual,
Let's reflect.
Take a slow breath in and let it out.
And consider these questions.
No overthinking.
Just your first honest answer.
What has been heavy in my relationships lately?
What have I been holding back that wants to be expressed?
What am I ready to release so love can move more freely?
Beautiful.
Now we're going to move into the ceremony.
Go ahead and gather your three dried flowers.
Your dried bay leaves and your marker.
Bay leaves are often used symbolically for protection,
Release and intention.
We're using them now as a physical representation of what you're letting go of,
Especially in relationships.
On each bay leaf,
Write one thing you want to release.
Keep it simple.
Go back to your reflection just moments ago.
One phrase per leaf is perfect.
What might sound or look like fear of being misunderstood,
Resentment,
Over explaining,
People pleasing,
Silence when I need to speak,
Needing to control outcomes.
Write one on each leaf.
One thing you're releasing for each leaf.
Pausing if you need more time.
Now hold the three bay leaves in your hands.
Take a slow inhale and exhale.
And as you hold them,
Just acknowledge,
This is what I'm ready to let go of.
This is what I no longer want to carry.
Now bring in the fireproof container.
When you're ready,
One at a time,
Burn the bay leaves safely over the container.
As you watch each leaf change,
Curl,
Darken,
Dissolve,
Imagine that the energy of what you wrote is shifting inside of you.
Not forced.
Not traumatic.
Just transforming.
Pausing now to burn each of your leaves.
And if you're not using fire,
Here's your alternative.
Tear the leaves into small pieces and place them into the earth or into a bowl of water.
Same intention,
Same release.
If you did use the fire,
Allow the ashes to cool completely.
And later,
When it's safe,
Place the cooled ashes into the earth.
That matters.
Because this part teaches your nervous system something powerful.
What I release becomes compost.
What I let go of becomes nourishment.
Nothing is wasted.
Now place your hand on your heart,
Bow your head slightly,
Just as a sign of reverence,
And offer gratitude.
Universe,
Great Spirit,
Mother Moon,
Thank you for helping me release what no longer serves love.
Thank you for helping me soften.
Thank you for helping me heal.
Thank you for helping me grow.
And now,
Ask for a sign.
In your own words,
Or with mine,
Please show me a sign within this moon cycle related to this area of my life.
Help me notice what I need to notice.
Help me hear what I need to hear.
Help me receive the guidance that supports my growth in love.
Now choose what kind of sign you'd like to receive and keep it specific.
Maybe it's a certain animal or phrase,
A symbol,
A number,
Song,
Color,
Feather,
A moment of unexpected clarity,
And ask clearly.
My sign is blank.
Please show it to me.
Now one final reflection.
If you release something,
What are you calling in to replace it?
Say it out loud or silently.
I call in love that's honest.
I call in communication that is clear.
I call in relationships that are nourishing and aligned.
I call in courage to express myself with compassion.
One final breath in and let it out and remember spring doesn't force the bloom.
It creates the conditions for it.
Tonight you created those conditions.
Happy pink moon,
My friend.
