Hello.
If you've ever been told to listen to your body and secretly thought,
I have no idea what that means,
This practice is for you.
Today we're not trying to empty your mind and we're not trying to force relaxation.
We're simply becoming curious.
Think of this as the beginning of a conversation,
The one you are really into.
Your body has been communicating with you your entire life.
So we are going to practice listening.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable position.
You don't have to sit perfectly still,
Just allow yourself to settle in whatever way feels supportive.
Take one slow breath in.
And an easy breath out.
And again.
No pressure,
No right answer,
Just arriving.
Stay with your breath.
Knowing and remembering that there's nothing else that needs to happen right now.
Just breathing.
And now imagine your body could send you a simple text message.
Just one sentence.
And ask yourself.
Buddy,
What do you need from me right now?
Just let it settle,
Let it sink in without trying to search for an answer.
We are not the same whatever comes first.
Perhaps it's.
.
.
Need to move.
Rest,
To stretch,
Drink water or slow down.
Or maybe another breath is needed.
Maybe it's to cry,
To laugh.
Open a window and cross your legs.
Maybe nothing at all.
Whatever arrives is welcome.
When you do receive an answer,
See if you can actually do it.
If your shoulders want to roll,
Let them.
If your neck wants to stretch,
Go ahead,
Stretch.
If your body wants a deeper breath,
Give it one.
Allow a sigh,
Practice stillness.
Spend the next few breaths honoring that request.
That's great.
Now let's check in with your body one more time.
Buddy,
What was it like to be listened to?
And notice what changes.
Maybe it's in the softening of your breath or relaxation of your jaw or your chest feeling lighter.
Either way,
It's okay.
Remember that sometimes trust grows quietly and every time you listen You're teaching your body something new.
And you're saying,
I'm here now.
So take another moment.
.
.
To check in.
To see how your body is feeling right here,
Right now.
You And remember one thing,
Your body doesn't expect perfection,
It simply hopes you'll come back again and again and again.
Because healing isn't built in one extraordinary moment.
It's built through thousands of ordinary moments of listening.
What a great gift it is to just pause and notice what is happening in your body and maybe giving it exactly what it needs,
A simple little gesture towards connection and appreciation.
If it feels comfortable,
Thank your body.
Take one final breath.
With all attention on it.
And slowly return to the present moment by orienting,
Looking around you,
Bringing your attention back to what's going on.
To continue your day knowing you have already begun.
