I love desserts, all types of desserts. Sometimes it's best to imagine that we are eating all sorts of desserts, rather than eating one too many cookies. Our imagination can help us in this favorite dessert mediation journey. I hope you enjoy it with little ones as much as I did making it, the mediation, not the actual dessert. I begin the meditation by shaking off any energy that you may have as we settle into this visual meditation. Bon appétit!

Hi,

My name is Marita and I like video games,

Basketball and meditation.

I'm excited that you're joining me today.

But before we begin,

Let's shake our body,

Shake our arms and our legs to stretch out as we get excited to begin our favorite dessert meditation.

Once you're done stretching your arms and your legs and shaking everything off,

Take both your hands and rub them against your belly.

That's it,

Just a little while longer.

And now that we've done this for a little while,

You may stop,

Find a comfortable spot to sit down and gently close your eyes.

As we sit,

We're going to imagine our favorite dessert.

It can be anything you like.

Ice cream,

Cupcakes,

Cookies,

Anything.

I like chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.

As we imagine our dessert,

Let's imagine our favorite dessert has a candle.

So let's take a deep breath and slowly blow off that candle.

Go on,

Go ahead.

Oh,

I think it's still lit.

Let's try that again.

Another deep breath and then blow that candle out.

Good job.

Now that we blow out the candle,

Let's start eating our dessert.

Imagine that you're taking just a small piece of your dessert.

You're enjoying all the different flavors,

The texture of your dessert,

How it feels in your hand and how you slowly eat it,

Enjoying everything about your favorite dessert.

As you sit here enjoying your favorite dessert,

You can feel your body sitting.

You can feel your chest lifting up and then down.

Then imagine taking another piece of that delicious,

Delicious dessert.

As we're sitting,

We're enjoying it.

All the flavors,

All the happiness that it brings us when we enjoy this wonderful treat.

I think I got a little distracted and I think I ate my entire dessert.

You might still have some.

So take your time eating it,

Imagining that you eat all of it until the last bit.

I think after all this,

We might have time to have a second dessert.

It's okay,

I won't tell your parents.

Can you imagine the second dessert?

What would it be?

Would it be cake,

Ice cream,

Cookies,

Gummy bears?

Do you have one in mind?

Great.

Let's get started again.

Imagine this time your dessert is smaller.

It fits in your hand or in a bowl that you can hold in your hands.

So then put your hands together near your chest as you're holding your dessert.

Then imagine how slowly you start eating your second dessert.

After tasting all the different flavors.

Taking bite after bite until you finish it all.

Remember it's a secret.

We had our second dessert.

I'm a little full.

I think two desserts was a lot.

And I imagine you taking a napkin and cleaning your mouth from eating your two desserts.

Let's take one big deep breath as we're finishing our meditation.

And now you may slowly open your eyes.

You can wiggle your fingers and your toes.

Thank you for meditating with me.

I hope you join me again another day.
