Welcome to the Cultivating Creativity Guided Mindfulness program.
Today,
We will be working with creative source and inspiration.
Begin by finding a comfortable place to sit or lay down,
Allowing yourself to begin to relax,
Letting go of any thoughts that are rolling around in your head.
And begin to give yourself permission to be in this moment,
Participating in this guided mindfulness.
To follow your breath,
Your inhale,
Your exhale,
Allowing your breath to begin creating a foundation to support you to access a creative spark in your life.
Settle in,
Relax,
Allow your eyes to close,
And allow your breath to deepen in through the nose and out through the mouth.
On your next exhale,
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm,
Settling in a little deeper into your space,
Becoming more familiar with sensations and sounds,
And bring your attention back to your body.
Allow your attention to travel through your body,
Noting areas of comfort,
Areas of discomfort,
Tension,
Relaxation,
Any underlying mood or sensations.
Allow your mind to be clear.
If you notice thoughts or judgments arise,
Just tag them as such and allow them to continue on their way,
Bringing your focus and attention back to your breath,
Noticing where in the body you feel the breath.
You feel the rhythm,
The rising and falling sensation.
Continue to watch your breath and imagine in your center,
The center of your body,
A tiny speck of light.
As soon as you imagine this speck of light,
This creative spark,
It begins to grow.
It begins to expand on all sides,
Beginning to fill the space in the center of your body,
Expanding to the edges of your body and then beyond.
What once was a speck of light is now beginning to fill the room you are in,
The building,
The home and expanding outwards in every direction,
Further into the village or town,
Country,
Continent,
Until it has expanded to encompass the entire planet.
Allow this light,
This creative spark to continue expanding without limits.
Aware of your breath,
Allow your mind to rest,
Free of expectation and aware of sensation of your breath moving in and out.
Letting go of any focus and allowing the mind to do what it wants to do.
Noticing any thoughts,
Images,
Words or sensations that may arise.
Allowing yourself to connect the words,
Thoughts or sensations to this creative spark.
What once was a speck of light has now expanded to encompass the entire planet.
These images that arise as you sit with this creative spark.
Allow them to just be in this present moment,
Exactly what they are.
Sparks of creativity.
Gently begin to bring your attention back to your body,
Feeling the weight of the body,
The points of contact,
Sounds.
Gently beginning to wiggle fingers and toes.
Notice how you feel in this moment.
Appreciate yourself for having taken this time out to be with your creative spark.
And as you move out into the rest of your day,
Allow yourself to practice a few times being in the present moment with focused attention on your speck of light on your creative spark.
Know that you can return to this guided meditation at any time.
And allow yourself to write down any images,
Words or creative spark that this may have shared with you today.
