Being myself,
From DrMariaRothenberger.
Com Being in a comfortable position now,
Either lying down or sitting up,
Begin noticing your breath.
Where do you notice it the most?
Your shoulders moving up and down,
Your belly rising and falling.
Maybe it's the coolness of air entering your nostrils and the warmth as the air leaves your body.
Simply notice moving your awareness now to your body,
Completely relaxing.
Beginning from your toes up to your ankles and calves,
Thighs and hips.
Your abdomen and chest,
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Watching your shoulders now as they loosen and gently drop,
Releasing all tension you may have accumulated throughout the day or from any tense dreams you may have had.
Like a beautiful garden planted in the coral just beneath the surface of the sea,
Your muscles flow and release with each undulation of breath.
Naturally,
Easily,
They let go and you experience the waves of your breath.
Noticing your facial muscles now as they release any tension,
They become heavy with gravity.
The muscles behind and around your eyes are letting in more light as they broaden and release any tension held within.
Opening up to the relaxation,
Your brows are releasing the furrows previously held there,
All the tension of your thoughts released into the field.
As they come in,
You watch them go.
The muscles of your scalp relax and down the other side of your head.
The muscles in the back of your neck and down your spine,
Lower back,
Buttocks,
Back of your legs and down to your feet,
Bottoms of your feet and back to your toes.
Your whole body now completely loose,
Floating,
Being securely held by the surface beneath you,
Feeling supported,
Safe,
Completely and entirely relaxed.
In this moment now,
We are going to go on an adventure.
An adventure to who you really are.
A reminder that you are more than who you seem to be in this physical reality.
Imagine now that you are standing on a dirt road.
What do you see around you?
Sky,
Trees,
Other kinds of vegetation.
What do you hear?
Animals,
Water?
Just notice.
Begin moving along this dirt path,
Noticing each step along the way.
Feel the earth beneath your feet.
Hear the sound each step makes as your feet touch the ground,
Feeling peaceful and energized.
This state of relaxation is perfectly safe and healthy for you.
Continuing down the dirt path,
You notice a fork in the road.
Take the path that feels most comfortable for you.
You're completely safe and whichever path you choose is the right one.
There is no wrong choice.
Continuing down the path you've chosen,
You walk until you've come to a clearing.
What do you see in this clearing?
Walk along farther and notice now a house.
What does this house look like?
Picture or sense it freely now in as much detail as you can.
Imagine this house in front of you now and standing in front of this home along the dirt road.
You now realize you have two suitcases in your hands.
The suitcases are filled with the grievances of the past.
Any pain,
Sadness,
Frustration,
Anger,
Solitude,
Failures,
Embarrassment,
Shame,
Fatigue,
And all matter of negative emotion are carried inside these suitcases.
And facing this home now,
You drop the suitcases in the road.
They no longer serve you.
You are ready to let them go.
Dropping them now,
Dropping them onto the dirt road.
They are no longer a part of you.
Feeling light,
Feeling free now,
Walking toward the house and reaching the front door.
There's a sign on the front door that reads the following,
No matter who you are and where you are on life's journey,
You are welcome here.
Entering this warm and inviting home now,
As you walk into the entryway,
You notice there's a mirror near the front door.
Walk toward this mirror.
Looking into the mirror now.
Looking into your own eyes in this mirror,
You see your soul there.
You see the real you.
Everything that is present in your eyes is the real you,
Not the masks you sometimes feel you have to portray to the world.
Looking into your own eyes now,
Repeat the following in your mind,
I completely love and accept you.
You are doing the best you can.
I completely love and accept you.
You are perfect in my eyes.
I completely love and accept all of you exactly as you are.
Feeling like yourself,
Free of burden,
Free of self-judgment,
Holding compassion for yourself and all you've been through.
Feeling the support beneath you,
Holding you.
You are safe,
You are secure,
You are loved,
False and all.
Everything is precisely as it needs to be.
Be well.
