May you hear the Holy Spirit speak deeply into you as you pray with these words of Psalm 121.
I lift up my eyes to the mountains and I ask where does my help come from,
Where does my strength come from?
And I hear your help comes from the Lord,
The creator of heaven and of earth,
And he will not allow your foot to slip.
For he who guards all of Israel and all of his people guards you and protects you.
For he does not take his eyes off of you,
He never slumbers nor sleeps.
For the most high God,
The Lord,
Is your shelter,
Staying right by your side,
Holds you by your right hand,
So the sun shall not afflict you by day nor the moon by night.
And from all evil,
The Lord will guard you and will protect your soul.
For the Lord will guard your going and your coming from now and forevermore.
As you speak these words back to the God of your life,
Notice what word or what phrase or image might be staring within you.
I lift up my eyes to the mountains and I ask where does my help come from,
Where does my strength come from?
Only from you,
My Lord,
Creator of heaven and of earth.
For you keep my foot steady,
So I do not wander off your path.
You are my protector,
You keep watch over me always.
For you never slumber or sleep.
You are the guardian of Israel and you are the guardian of all of your people.
For you guard me and you guide me,
Holding my right hand.
You stay by my side and you shelter me always.
The sun will not afflict me by day nor the moon by night.
You keep me from all evil as you are the protector of my soul.
You guard my coming and my going from now and forevermore.
And I say yes,
Let it be so,
Let it be now.
Amen.
