Welcome to this meditation to break all negative thoughts.
The first half of this meditation will be done in the seated position,
And the second half will be done standing,
So make sure you have enough space to do both.
Begin by sitting down,
Lengthening the spine and closing your eyes.
See if you can feel your arms resting heavily by your sides.
Are your feet flat on the floor?
Notice the contact they are making with the ground below.
Now become aware of those negative thoughts that you are having.
Let them circle in your mind.
Notice how your body feels when you think about these things.
Does your posture change in any way?
Did you begin to slouch or let your head drop down?
Continue to allow yourself to think these negative thoughts,
And notice the chemistry in your body is changing.
You are releasing cortisol,
The stress hormone.
Perhaps you are not feeling too good.
So go ahead and correct your posture now,
Hold yourself upright,
Breathe a deep breath in and out,
And state that you are ready to let go of these negative thoughts.
Say out loud,
I am ready to break all negative thinking.
Inhale very deeply,
Fill your lungs with as much air as you can,
Breathe out fully.
If your eyes are closed,
Open them,
And take a look around.
Let your eyes wander from left to right,
And up and down.
You are starting a new beginning right now,
Where negative thoughts no longer bother you,
For you are learning the techniques to break them whenever they take over.
Let a smile come on your face.
This releases endorphins.
Go ahead and smile really big.
Hold that smile,
And allow for yourself to feel the goodness of doing so.
Now relax your face,
And just enjoy the meditation for a few moments of silence.
Good.
It is time to get into a standing position now,
If you can.
We are going to do what is called a power pose.
Place your hands on your hips,
Expand your chest out,
And hold your shoulders back.
Make sure your head is nice and tall,
Right above the spine.
Tuck the chin very slightly.
Allow for yourself to feel confident.
Stand like Superman.
Feel like a hero.
Very good.
Now open your arms out wide,
Palms facing up.
Let your chin turn up towards the sky,
Ever so slightly.
Extending your arms out,
And feeling the power of this pose.
Nice.
Now put your hands back on your hips,
Like Superman,
And hold this pose.
Make sure your chest is out,
And your shoulders are back.
Notice,
Are you thinking any negative thoughts while holding this pose?
I bet not.
Continue to hold this power pose.
You are releasing endorphins.
You are changing the very state of your being.
You are cleansing your mind of negativity.
This is all happening because you are changing your physical structure.
It is proven science that this is the way to break all negative thoughts.
Now just relax your posture,
Let your arms hang heavy by your sides,
And begin to think of someone that you are grateful to know.
See them in your mind's eye,
And imagine that you can say to them,
I am so grateful to have you in my life.
And now,
Recall a memory that you were very excited about,
A time in your life where you felt successful,
Where you felt proud,
Joyful.
Think of this exciting moment.
Remember it as if you are there now.
Take a few moments to notice how you feel after practicing these amazing negative breaking techniques.
Your meditation has come to an end.
Now go find someone that you really care about,
And say something positive to them.
