Hello and welcome to today's meditation by me,
Mahi Davide,
All about breathing color.
And this meditation is focused on the colors of any object that we choose in our direct surroundings.
And we're going to use that color and the shape and the light bouncing off of the object.
To inform our practice and the deepening of our breath inside of us so we're going to be Localizing something outside of ourselves,
And we're going to be using that as a bridge to connect to ourselves deeper.
Now,
I'm a neuroemotional integration therapist,
A holistic therapist,
And I've been teaching meditation for.
.
.
Seven plus years now.
And yeah,
I'm really glad to welcome you in today's practice with me.
On this video and As we begin all you really need is a comfortable place to sit.
I am sitting in the sun.
With a lot of plants around me,
As you might see reflected.
And yeah,
I really.
.
.
Like to invite you to is a comfortable position so whether that's your legs crossed out in front of you or your legs to the side of the cushion this can help especially if you are feeling kind of sore in your lower back And.
.
.
We're gonna begin this time by not closing our eyes.
We're going to actually look around us for a moment.
I'm going to invite you to look around in the space where you're currently seated.
And we're just going to become aware of the sense of sight.
And as we become more aware.
Of our sense of sight in this case.
We allow ourselves to arrive more.
Within the current moment.
Very often we are.
.
.
Seeing the world but are we really watching are we really noticing Perhaps you're noticing.
Different objects surrounding you.
Certain colors.
And from here I'm going to invite you to.
.
.
Allow your attention.
To land.
On one object and this can be anything that you want it to be But a good question you might ask yourself is,
What object is naturally drawing in my curiosity,
My attention.
So I did this meditation this morning also in my meditation club.
Then I focused on a plan that was close by to me.
And now I'm noticing I'm being drawn to a symbol behind my camera.
Something that holds my lights my little tea lights which is bright pink.
So I'm gonna choose this object for my journey with you now.
And so if you're noticing you have many choices,
Just allow yourself to settle onto just one.
You can't do this wrong.
That's what it comes down to.
Alright.
Allow your awareness to settle upon this object.
Hello.
This thing if you will to become your source of focus.
And whenever you feel distracted,
Whenever you get distracted by thoughts,
By sounds,
Bye.
Something happening in your body,
Then this is your returning point.
This is where you can come back to every single time.
And as you have placed your gaze here i invite you to start noticing perhaps some details that you didn't notice before about this object Perhaps there are some imperfections.
That might now seem more perfect.
Perhaps you're noticing a slight difference in color.
In different places in the object itself.
You might notice that When you give yourself permission to land your gaze on this object and watch this object with more and more attention.
Thank you.
Naturally start breathing just a little bit more deeply.
Just because you allow yourself to be here.
Be present.
With what you choose to focus on.
Hmm.
And as your gaze softens because it is Please.
On one object.
I invite you to notice.
How to color.
Moves into your eyes,
For there is light that bounces off of this object.
A light that bounces off of this object that moves into your eyes so that you are able to perceive this object through your eyes.
Pretty cool stuff.
Can you almost feel how your eyes are drinking in?
This light,
This reflection.
Very soon we're going to be closing our eyes so i invite you to stay here for just 10 more seconds with me giving this all your presence this object all of your presence watching it from every angle.
Drinking it in.
And then right before we close our eyes,
We're going to imagine that we're able to inhale the color that comes off of this object.
Even if it's a very neutral colored object.
We're going to imagine what it's like to inhale the color of this object.
And as we do on your next inhale,
I'm going to invite you to close your eyes.
And exhaling it out.
I'm gonna inhale again,
Inhaling in the collar.
You You might notice that because you've looked at this object for so long.
.
.
You continue breathing with me.
You might see the outline or the shape of this object even when you have your eyes closed.
You might witness the color.
From inside as you breathe it in,
Drink it in further on your next inhale.
And we're going to stay here for a moment,
Inhaling in the color of the object of your choice.
And we're just going to notice.
With what I call curious eyes,
What it is that we feel when we inhale in this color more deeply,
More fully,
Every breath that we take.
Hmm.
Exhale naturally i always like exhaling out from the mouth making a sighing sound but breathe in whatever way suits you best right now.
What does it feel like to take in this color more deeply?
Where are you noticing?
That it becomes alive in your body.
And this object.
Has become your anchor as we call it.
So whenever you lose focus,
Whenever you get distracted,
This is where you get a return to.
The shape of the object to the color of the object.
And if you need a reminder,
You just Open your eyes and take a sneak peek at the object once again before closing the eyes.
And taking in the color more deeply.
Letting the colors spread.
By way of your beautiful breath.
I'm gonna stay here for two more minutes and I'm gonna be silent in this space.
Whenever you lose your focus,
You just go back to your anchor.
Your object.
And the color of it.
Hmm.
No.
Soon we will part the eyelids.
When you feel ready in your own time.
I invite you to do this as slowly as you can.
Like you're just waking up from the most nourishing nap.
And as you do,
You allow more and more light to come in.
Through the eyes into the brain to your being you Just notice how you feel right now being in this body.
Having journeyed with it with this color or multiple colors.
If that came up for you.
Ah.
Where you felt it or where you may might still feel it For me,
It was really cool because this morning I did this meditation on.
.
.
Green plant and now i did it on the pink objects and i noticed that the green was still present in my body my hips but the pink was more present in my heart and in my chest.
There is no wrong or right with this.
You can do this meditation as many times as you like,
But I would love to hear from you how this was for you.
If you would like to share the object of your choosing,
The color and perhaps where you felt it.
I would love to read it and others would love to read it too,
I'm sure.
Thank you for journeying with me today.
My name is Mahi Davida and I greatly look forward to seeing you at the next one.
