Welcome beautiful inner explorer.
My name is Mahi as you might know.
And in the month of the senses,
In our final session in our month of the senses,
We are going to be exploring the sense of touch.
And this is perhaps my favorite sense because I am a holistic therapist as well.
That works a lot with the nervous system and I know just how incredibly powerful it is when we connect to ourselves by using our own hands,
Using our own touch and staying present with it.
Just noticing whatever comes up it is such a welcoming space for our body for our emotions and it's something that is just like the other senses,
Accessible to us at any moment.
So whenever we need to calm ourselves down,
This will also provide you with an amazing tool.
But also if you just want to deepen the connection with yourself.
By the vehicle that is this powerful body that carries both you and carries me.
We're gonna be using our hands today.
So I invite you to find a comfortable spot,
Of course,
As always.
I would also recommend,
If you're not used to doing this,
To really find clothes that you're comfortable with,
Clothes that make you feel supported.
I sometimes get people in my practice who wear really tight clothes.
Sometimes even yoga pants can feel quite tight.
So what if for today you wore something that makes you just feel really comfortable and hugged?
And if that's yoga pants,
That's totally fine,
Of course,
As well.
But if you're feeling like,
Oh,
I'm wearing something that's not as comfortable,
Maybe take a moment to pause this video,
Wear something comfortable,
And then come back to your meditation cushion.
I'm wearing an old vest of my dad's.
I love wearing clothes of people that I love.
It always makes me feel extra hugged.
Yeah.
So if you found your spot,
If you found your seat,
Then I'm going to invite you to bring your hands together.
And you might have done this a lot when you've been practicing yoga or you've been traveling in Asia.
This is called Namaste Mudra.
And a mudra is.
.
.
Really a hand gesture.
The word mudra comes from Sanskrit and it means like a placement of the hands to amplify certain energetic currents in our body.
Because we have a lot of connection points to all of our organs in the soles of our hands and the soles of our feet.
So today we're gonna bring all these touch points together.
Namaste mudra and we're going to make contact with our chest.
Feel aware.
It feels good for you.
Do you want to place them up a little bit higher or a little bit lower?
And it's like you're plugging your thumbs into the heart space.
You don't have to press too hard.
But just make sure that you feel that.
Slight contact with the chest underneath maybe making a few like movements up and down so you can feel connection.
You don't just feel how the fingers touch.
Chest but you feel the chest also receiving the touch of the fingers.
And maybe close your eyes.
And I invite you to release that movement.
Keep still the thumbs connected.
Through the chest.
And as we're moving more deeply into the sense of feeling,
I invite you to start using your exhales.
As the vehicle.
To lower your awareness deeper down.
From the space of the head where we usually live.
And on your next exhale,
Moving down with our awareness into the neck and the throat.
Taking a breath in there.
None.
Dwindling the awareness down towards the chest where The thumbs are plugged in.
And just keeping our awareness there so we feel our next inhale in this space.
And we feel our exhale amplifying our awareness within the space of the chest.
And we're going to stay here for a few rounds of breath.
Hmm.
And if like me you want to use a sighing sound or you want to use your voice when you exhale.
You might even be able to feel the vibration of your own voice.
Which amplifies your awareness in this space.
Ahhhh.
And if you get distracted.
.
.
You bring yourself back to the space where your thumbs meet the chest.
Hmm.
And what if just for now you could.
.
.
Allow all your awareness to travel.
Towards that small space where your thumbs Make a connection to the chest,
Even if there's layers of clothes underneath.
Where can you feel the touching points?
Where the chest meets.
The thumbs and the thumbs meet the chest.
Hmm.
And the power of our presence is that wherever we place it,
We naturally amplify it.
We naturally energize it.
So you might notice that the more often you bring yourself back to that space where the thumbs connect with the chest.
The experience of this space.
Gradually grows.
Hmm.
So let it grow.
Let your awareness expand.
Into your hands,
Into your chest.
Feeling how the inhale rises,
The hands and the exhale.
Lowers the chest and the hands together.
Breathing as one.
And as the awareness spread,
I'm now going to invite you to release Namaste Mudra.
And bring the palms of your hands.
Flat upon the chest and place them Wherever feels good.
Maybe today you want them,
Please.
More closely to the shoulders if you've been carrying a lot of weight,
Or perhaps you want to keep them very close to the center of the chest.
You can't do this wrong.
And what would it feel like if.
.
.
Your chest.
Simply got to receive.
Presence of your hands just for now.
You Receive.
Ah.
Again,
When you feel distracted you come back to where the hands meet the chest.
Allowing yourself slowly to be more immersed in the felt sense.
Now from here,
We're going to release our hands and slowly start rubbing them against each other.
And you can do it.
In a way where both palms are flat or you can allow the hands.
To really unfold up against each other.
I wouldn't know how to call this any other way.
Just allow the hands to touch one another.
And see if you can slow it down.
To a maximum.
How slow can you go?
And slowing down And if you opened your eyes to look,
I invite you to close them again now.
Slowing down as fast as we could.
As fast as we can,
It allows for us to be immersed in the felt sense,
The sense of feeling.
Can you go from doing.
.
.
To feeling again and again.
Perhaps touching one finger.
And then the finger besides it.
Almost like you're experiencing these fingers for the very first time.
Why not?
And you will get distracted,
But you can always move back.
To the felt sense.
Always.
Now,
Bringing the hands together in prayer position.
Folding all the fingers through one another.
Feel the aftermath of.
.
.
Having touched your hands like that,
Perhaps you also still feel.
Some energy around the chest for having been so present with it just now.
How does it feel to have been so present with yourself through the sense of touch?
Do you notice a color in the hands?
More energy Perhaps you're even seeing a symbol.
Hmm.
And to close off,
I now invite you to You can very slowly bring the tips of your fingers towards your face.
And very slowly also here.
Start making contact with.
.
.
The surface.
Of the face allowing these fingers to travel wherever they want to go If you go slowly,
See if you can go even slower.
All for the purpose of you getting deeply in touch.
With your own touch.
Almost like you're feeling this face for the very first time.
Closing the eyes.
To feel deeper into that sense.
Of touch into the sense of feeling.
Perhaps instead of stroking,
We can allow the fingertips to slightly take little walks with the tips of our fingers around the face.
Perhaps even extending.
Our connection to the top of our head.
Giving ourselves a very soft massage.
What can you receive?
More deeply your own presence,
Your own touch.
Let's make some big strokes from our forehead.
All the way to the back of the skull and down your neck.
Messing up your hair.
Let's do that a few times if you have hair.
From the front of the head to the back of the skull and down.
Go slowly still here.
Two more And then bringing the hands wherever you want,
But allowing them to rest now.
Perhaps they can be placed on.
.
.
Your left.
They've done all the hard work so now they can just chill.
And it's up to our awareness to now feel into what it feels like.
To have been in touch.
Literally.
With ourselves like this.
Where do you feel the reverberation?
In this body.
And what else do you notice here?
Are you perhaps noticing?
More space.
Somewhere in the body or.
.
.
A softer facial expression.
Perhaps you notice.
A slightly deeper breath.
Or all of the above as we connected with our biggest organ.
Our skin.
And so And I invite you to slowly again part the islands and allow the light to come back in.
See you.
Whether even now you've opened your eyes,
You can still feel where the energy has been activated in your body.
Welcome back.
It's just starting to rain as I close this meditation,
As I close this recording.
But thank you for joining with me today.
I would love to know how this was for you.
Let me know in the comments.
For me,
I felt this deepening breath naturally.
And yeah i would love to hear from you so definitely let me know and i look forward to seeing you hopefully at the next one my name is mahi And I wish you a beautiful day or night or afternoon wherever you are.
