Hello there friend.
I want to read for you.
One of the beautiful stories from the book Around the Sun,
Stories and symbols from across the world.
By Yoshi Yoshizani.
It's a really beautiful book with gorgeous artwork by the author Hmm.
They have gathered.
So many various stories and symbols painted and created this artwork for each and every one of them.
It's a joy for the eye and for the mind,
Heart and soul to read this book.
And today I want to read for you about the world tree.
The world tree is an ancient living pillar that holds together the structure of the universe.
It is the mythic axis around which everything spins.
The focal point and the center of the world.
With its branches in heaven,
Its trunk in the mortal realms,
And its roots among the underworld.
The World Tree acts as a cosmic bridge that channels energy,
Spirit and time.
It links the divine to the mortal life to death,
Spiritual to mundane.
To climb the world tree is to journey between death and rebirth,
Ignorance and illumination.
It represents.
Order.
And chaos.
Endurance through cycles.
And the continuity of life.
Simultaneously it reflects the interconnectedness of all things.
What happens in one realm affects all others.
In Norse myth.
YGGDRASIL YGGDRASIL holds the nine worlds.
In its vast limbs.
In Chinese cosmology.
Jian Mu.
Connects the earth to the heavens and serves as a divine passage.
The Ashvata of the Hindu tradition is reversed.
The roots of the tree orienting in the heavens.
With the branches in the material world.
This reminds enlightened seekers.
That spiritual insight requires turning perception upside down in Mayan mythology.
Yaksha is a Seiba tree planted at the center of the world.
With four trees for more trees in colors of red for blood black for death yellow for my ease and white for purity placed at each of the world's four edges in Finnish mythology.
I love you.
Is not a tree but a pillar that rotates on the nail of the sky.
The world tree.
Is a constant within a shifting universe offering wisdom to those who seek it and a foundation when the world seems unstable.
It offers orientation and serves as a reminder that all things are connected above and below.
Within and beyond.
And the artwork is a beautiful representation of the world tree where the roots are down in the dark soil what also looks like a night sky with a crescent moon with a waxing crescent and a lot of white dots as stars and then the stem of the tree looks like the roots growing upwards and they're woven together almost like braided and we see a colorful rainbow here for around the stem Reaching from one side to the other,
This arch of the rainbow.
And I feel that also represents the present moment because when we witness a rainbow it appears sometimes out of nowhere on that time when there is rain and sunshine coming together and we can only witness a rainbow when we're in the present moment.
And then the background is also a gradient from this darker soil and darker purple and indigo going upwards.
Different shades towards the sky that is a beautiful turquoise in this painting.
With the branches also looks like almost woven together in beautiful patterns.
It reminds me of the like the celtic knot almost And among the branches are green,
Dark green leaves.
And there are little fluffy white clouds to really symbolize the sky and the heaven.
And in the middle of the crown of the tree is the sun.
So we have the sun above and the moon below,
The light and the dark.
Sky,
Heaven,
And soil,
The underworld.
The enlightened state,
The consciousness,
And the subconscious.
There's so much,
So,
So much rich symbolism in this painting.
It's really gorgeous.
And it accompanies the text so beautifully.
Foam.
You can if you want to of course explore this topic further.
And ask yourself.
.
.
What is your relation to the world tree and where in your life could it perhaps offer you a sense of stability in the chaos,
Steadfastness.
A constant.
Within the ever-changing world that is also changing at the pace of nature.
We are all part of nature and nature is part of us.
And change his part of the world.
Like I said in one of my poems,
Change is a privilege of the living.
And we we get to Move through life.
With more ease when we learn to welcome change.
And this is something that I've been working on a lot and practicing.
I definitely used to struggle with unexpected changes while also craving variety and change to feel alive and to find a balance and also find more patience when change sometimes takes time and longer than anticipated and also to find stability,
Groundedness.
And inner calm when unexpected change occurs.
It's all definitely a practice.
And i trust that this story and these nuggets of insights about the world tree has offered you some value in your day.
And I wish you all the best on your journey.
Be well,
Dear,
Dear fellow traveler.
Take gentle care of you and be well.
Namaste.
