The one,
Pure and simple action we do so well,
Autonomously,
No thought needed.
Pure breath,
Vital and sacred.
Here and now,
You are invited to move your awareness within the flow of your breathing,
Into the motion of your breath,
Becoming more and more aware of how the inhales draw in vital,
Precious air,
Oxygen,
Life,
And your exhales expelling so naturally CO2,
Air that no longer serves you.
A beautiful dance between in and out,
Back and forth.
Rhythmic in nature,
Like the ebbs and flows of our oceans.
And here you're finding yourself with your awareness remaining on your breath,
Beginning to feel this natural flow,
Deepening your attention,
Your awareness,
On all your inhales and exhales,
Allowing yourself to feel the subtleties of your breath,
The gentle sensations of air touching your nostrils,
As the air moves in and out,
Feeling the soft flow of air towards the back of your throat,
As here this flow of air begins to travel down into your body,
And here out of the body just as well.
Inhales drawing in,
Exhales expelling out.
A flow state without effort,
No need for any action to be taken by you.
Here and now you are the observer,
The feeler,
Experiencing breath,
Sensing your body being breathed,
Noticing however so gently your chest rises and then recedes,
Just like the waves of an ocean.
Can you allow yourself here within your chest to feel the inhales drawing the air in,
Letting it circulate within the space of your chest,
Your lungs,
And through this natural motion of expelling.
Notice how your exhales carry the air outwards ever so swiftly.
Your breath is a rhythm all your own,
All you,
Effortless.
See for yourself now,
With your awareness continuing to reside on your breath,
Where is your awareness moving towards along this journey of your breath?
Is it your nose,
Your throat,
Your chest?
Maybe even deeper,
Noticing how your belly expands and recedes,
With the relaxing belly breathing.
Where is your awareness?
Maybe outside of you,
Of your breath.
Wherever you are finding yourself along this chain of breathing,
Give yourself permission to rest here.
Be here with your breath,
Fully.
Simply feeling,
Experiencing yourself being breathed right here,
Right now.
So too much activity mentally may take you away temporarily from your breath.
Yet your breath remains,
Inviting you once more to return and be with it.
Conscious of it.
Free from the need to judge,
Label,
Or analyze.
Simply being here,
As you are being breathed.
So and yet again,
When the mind becomes too active for your liking,
Let yourself reconnect with the breath that is always there,
That is always there.
Like an undercurrent of you.
Like an undercurrent within the ocean that is you.
Always there for you to reconnect.
No matter how stormy the seas might be around you.
Breath,
Your inhale,
And your exhale,
Rhythmically moving.
And you are simply here,
Feeling the flow of air.
Sensing the peace that this flow in and out carries with it.
Your breath,
Here.
Can you feel the depth that opens up more and more and more within your breath as you continue to simply remain aware of your inhaling and your exhaling?
The depth,
Not necessarily in a physical sense,
But a depth of awareness of the beautiful and minuscule details of your breath.
The softness of the air as it travels through you.
The peacefulness and potential alertness that it brings when you notice the air circulating within your chest.
Or an observation uniquely your own.
Uniquely your own.
Something that may even go beyond words.
Something that needs no description.
Whatever it is you're experiencing by being with your breath,
Being in your breath,
Continue to allow it to be as it is.
Continue to allow it to be as it is.
You have now gifted yourself many moments and many minutes with your breath.
This is how we show gratitude.
For the sacredness of our breathing.
Something that is so easily forgotten day to day.
Because we breathe so naturally without thought.
And even without awareness.
Yet so sacred in that it brings peace,
Stability,
Stability,
And a deep anchoring within us that often goes far beyond words.
And so here now I leave you with your beautiful breath.
To be with it and in it for as long as you feel you need it.
No fluff.
No complexity.
Just you and the rhythm of your breath.
Feeling its flow.
Being its flow.
